Tignanello Handbags - Leather with "Man Made Materials"

I came here specifically to talk about Tignanello bags. I realize there is another discussion regarding these bags falling apart. I came to talk about this brand mixing materials.

I have always thought Tignanello was a great handbag. Bought my first in 1995, all gorgeous soft leather, lasted forever. Then I bought one as a TSV and thought the trim "looked funny" quite a few years ago. The trim eventually shredded. It turns out it wasn't leather, but a combo of leather and PVC trim. I was totally unaware of this even though I watched the TSV several times that day.

Today I was interested in the Tig show they had this morning and every single Tig they showed was a combination of leather and "man-made materials". I looked up every single one. Even their really popular large bag that was around $160 had "man-made" trim inside the bag. I'm assuming the handles are leather, but again, mixing materials on a nearly $200 bag!!! This really annoys me because man made materials just do not last, do not look quite the same and are the first parts of the handbag that deteriorates!

This morning there was an adorable bag that had "Vachetta" trim. However, it was NOT Vachetta Leather. It was a man made material to look like Vachetta Leather. I do not believe that the Q is disclosing this fact on air, or going over it very slightly because many people think as I did that the entire bag was leather as it used to be....

I'm so disappointed in the Q AND in Tignanello over this.....

The last Tig bag I bought held up great, EXCEPT for the handle....it cracked, I was so disappointed as the rest of the bag still looked good. I am not sure I will purchase anymore handbags unless the are all leather.

This is why I will not buy another Tig. My first had manmade materials and peeled. A complete waste of money. Never again.

If I want fake leather (and I do for rainy season) I will buy quality fake leather.

This is old news now, but I agree. I loved Tig twenty years ago. Refuse to buy them now. Wish they would return to an all leather bag because I love their designs.

I'm so sorry that you were stung like that. I have a red crossbody by Tig that I love but it has had very little use so I can't really attest to its durability. I think they should disclose the man made parts during the sell spiel. People should know what the're buying.

I apologize in not knowing that this was "old news" here. I don't post all the time so had no idea, but very glad that it's been brought up and discussed.

I doubt I will purchase a Tig in the future because of this. I can get an all leather bag for $200 in any major department store. It's just that this has been very, very disappointing, both in the product, but also with QVC. Also, because this brand is under the BMakowski ownership umbrella, I'm especially disappointed in the quality.

No need to apologize. I didn't mean that it is old news here, although it has been discussed a lot. I meant that they have been doing this man made trim for quite some time now. Even their leather often looks man made like a pleather.

Thanks.... it's all so disappointing as I am a pursie through and through... I love them all. Except mixed materials. I don't mind PVC coated canvas with vachetta leather with certain monograms and fleurs on them for example (*wink*wink*)... but thing with Tig has turned me off completely....

What a shame! The new line of Tig purses with the faux vachetta................they're adorable bags that I'd snap up in a minute if the bag were ALL leather. Smiley Sad
