The 3/24 TSV

I have held a leather Janine in my hands before. In our local Dillards. I have the new TSV in pink. These are not the same leathers. Not at all. Someone wrote in one of the forums that it felt like a type of sandpaper. I would not go that far, but it is definitely not the same as the previous Janine that I held in my hands.

Can someone else explain this a bit more clearly? I know that I am not imagining this. The pink one is pretty and I do like it, but the fabrication is not the same as Janines I have held in the past.
