Anybody had luck getting a pair of shoes stretched? I need more room in the tow box of a pair of shoes I bought. I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and had any luck getting them stretched?

I've never had any luck stretching shoes that were too snug, especially with the width.
I even took it to a shoe repair shop where he put it on a wooden stretcher shoe form. The shoes were a bit looser, but still uncomfortable.

I stretched the toe box on a pair of boots by spritzing the inside with water and walking around wearing them with a thick sock on . Took a few evenings to get results but I was determined!
Eta....I had to put a plastic bag over the thick sock to get my foot in the boot.

Agree with Azcowgirl. Just be careful. I used the heavy sock method and the shoes became too big.

Yes, stuffed moist paper real tight into shoe. There are shoe stretchers sold, shoemaker stretches shoes. Also walking in shoes with heavy socks, have husband shove his foot in as far as it will go. (I wear an 8 w dh 14 eee he tried and it helped)
I’d only use these techniques if I couldn’t return shoes
since none produce terrific results.
Good Luck

@greamy,When I taught for 36 years in my first career, I stupidly created a bunion! Any pressure on that area causes the bunion to grow. When your career has been on your feet, they widen just slightly too.
I stretch every shoe in the toe box. I bought wooden shoe stretchers and for the first few wearings, I put them back in when I get home for several evenings. The key is to buy good stretchers, because when the cheap ones are tightened, they fall apart and are useless. I wear a lot of lace up London Fly and I love Dansko sandals as well.

For flats (The spray really helps) leather has to be coaxed into place.
This is the one for high heels. You need one for each foot. They last a life time! There's also one for boots!
Let me know if I can help you.

You can view tutorials on Youtube showing how to stretch shoes. I have had very good results using the hairdryer method for stretching the toe box on several pairs of my shoes. If your shoes are uncomfortable you have nothing to lose by giving that method a try. Good luck.

I've used this in the past. Wet the shoes and wear with socks until they are completely dry. I've had good results. Just bought a new bottle for some shoes.
