If you like Sperry's boat shoes there's a great sale on the Sperry web site. 50 percent off on many styles, not just boat shoes. Plus free shipping for orders over $50 and a coupon code for another 15 percent off.

They also have wide sizes that aren't usually found on other web sites like Zappos.

thank you. I'm going to have a look.

I've had a pair of Sperry loafers for 25 years. I wonder if they're still made as well.

Wow! Loafers that have lasted for 25 years! That's great!

I have nothing like that to compare with, but I bought a pair of loafers that were on sale, they appear to be beautifully made and I'm loving wearing them. I bought a second pair in another color.

Oh my, you are making me go look 🤣

In addition to some wides, check the sole because some styles are sewn down.  Less durable brands just glue the tops on.

If you oil treat them, they can be good for wet weather.

@AuntMame, I'm so glad I saw your post. I bought some navy blue canvas sneakers and some black leather Wells boat shoes. there are a lot of styles on sale to choose from, and free shipping. and...they're still made in Maine.

I bought a pair of leather Wells boat shoes and they run large. I'm between sizes 7.5 and 8. I ordered a pair in 8 and they were big. I went back and ordered a 7.5. But I'm keeping the 8's because my aging feet like the idea of having a nice pair of leather loafers with which I can wear heavy socks.

Thank you for the tip on treating with oil. Will definitely do that.

The leather loafers that I bought appear to be glued. But they do have a lot of inner-padding on the soles which is nice.

I too have a couple pairs of Sperry shoes that are ancient. I remember following the detailed directions (complete with drawings) on how to make the fancy laces on them!
