I wear and own lots of socks. I go without socks in warmer weather. Also depends on the shoe & outfit. Some shoes just don't feel good to me without a sock of some kind.

I like a low cut sock with a bit of extra material or "ridge" on the back to keep it up on my ankle with a sneaker in warm weather. Tried several no show socks without that feature, and they always slide down which is very annoying.

I wear crew socks with my sneakers when it's colder.

Crew, trouser, or knee high socks with my ankle boots.

Trouser socks with flat loafers in cold weather only.

Trouser or sheer nude or black knee high hose with heeled loafers and trousers all year.

Sheer nude knee high hose or matching color with pumps and trousers all year.

I will skip socks with boat shoes, loafers, & flats in summer. I have some Peds no show for these shoes, but again, they always slip off my heel which drives me crazy so I don't wear them much.

I wear socks inside booties and some shoes.  Not many because I have all kinds of socks.  I have nice thick socks for winter months that I wear in tall boots.  I have thinner knee high socks that I wear with booties and shoes.

Where I live I'm not doing without socks.  Not gonna happen when the temperature gets 20 degrees.  You'll likely find me with two pairs of socks on.  I wear socks in my house and to kick about my house I wear an old pair of ugg boots that come just above my shin.  I live in an older home and when downstairs my home is always cooler ~ so I grab the socks.

Here in the Northeast, when fall and winter roll around, it can get pretty darn cold.  Socks, at least for me, are a must.  I've found that natural fibers such as wool in socks are the warmest.  I purchased some fantastic warm, Merino wool blend socks from Costco that aren't bulky.  They come in a package of 4 and are about $14 in store.  Here's a picture, they come in either blue or purple and have 4 different patterns.  The socks look gray in the picture but they're not.  The colors and prints are actually a pretty shade of dark blue or dark purple.  imageService.jpg

@ciao_bella These are the socks that I got the last time I was in Costco!  They are great and I hope to get another set when I go back.

I have three drawers with every sock type you can imagine. Socks for all seasons. When my daughters come to visit they know not to pack any. Mom always has extras. With so many ankle pants shown on QVC no need for socks. Poor cold ankles in the winter.
