The shoes/sandals look freakish because our feet are not squared off at the toes. The sandals look like one is walking on spatulas. It will be interesting how long this trend lasts...

I really dislike those square toes and the heels would dislike me...PAIN! I had a pair of shoes in the late 60s that look just like those brown slides. I might enjoy wearing those again.

My hooves are not square, so neither are my clodhoppers.😁

It's interesting that this is a style that has just come back around. I remember squared toed shoes/boots back in the 80's or early 90's. I have a pair with an almost cowboy rendention that squared off and they are comfortable as all get out. Trying to remember the brand but can't at the moment. This of course, is when I rocked heels all the time.
All trends come back around....

I don't like the squared off toe. I can't wear slides either. My ankle slips without an ankle strap or closed in back.

The slide type shoes remind me of watching the Golden Girls. That's all Blanche wore. They would click clack as she walked on the show. I don't like the sound of that.....

Just not at all appealing to me.
I prefer closed heel and toe (pointed or almond) shoes with a block heel no higher than 1.5"
