I have very hard to fit feet. As a result, I shouldn't buy from QVC simply because of the shipping costs but they have sooo many nice styles. I recently purchased Halston boots ($100) and paid $7.50 in shipping. Of course they are way too wide for me in the heel and so they need to go back...for another $7.95. That's almost $16 just to try on a pair of boots!!! I need to stop or the Q needs to adjust their outrageous shipping fees!!!

@bargainsgirl This is exactly what I refuse to buy shoes, boots or handbags (often a close-to-$12 shipping fee on handbags!) from QVC any more. Absolutely not. I would much rather go to Designer Shoe Warehouse, whose prices are cheaper anyway and where I can try the shoes on in person. I you have a DSW rewards card, there is free S&H from their website and you can always return the shoes to a store if they don't work out. A much better deal.

My extended family owned more than half of the shoe stores anywhere near our home, so having watched the careful fitting that went into many, many purchases over many years, I cringe when I want to order a shoe "long distance" even if the shipping is free.
From QVC, the only brand they sell that I currently order occasionally would be Vionics, and even then, never anything from their closed toe shoes except for their sneakers with which I have had good luck.
Because, as @bargainsgirl noted also, my feet are hard to fit, I support my local stores and my local workers. The statistics on shoe returns are forbidding, and they include people with decent feet, something I haven't had for 30 yeras already.

Don't know if this will be deleted but I shop for shoes online. I only use those sites that have free shipping and returns. Once I ordered 4 pair of the same shoe, differing sizes and widths. I chose the pair that fit and returned the others. If you google shoes online with free shipping yoy will find the major sites. Good luck!

Are there any sites where you can return worn shoes? I know you can't at DSW. I rarely buy shoes at the q, but that's what I appreciate about the q.

This post might get deleted too, but I have to mention 2 online sites I use; Zappos and Shoebuy. Always free shipping and returns within 30 days. I even buy my husbands and sons there. There is absolutely no reason to pay for S&H when sites like these are available. Happy shopping!

This is why I order shoes from Nordstrom; $5 to ship to me and no fee to return or I can go to the store and return them. If sizing is an issue, they'll order different sizes for me to arrive at the store (no cost to me) and then I can go in and try them on.
Now, certain brands/designers seem to keep their sizing true no matter what so in THAT case, I'll order online as often, there is a better price to be had (hello HSN and Vince Camuto).
I hear you though, and that's why I rarely order items that make me go "hmm, wonder if the size will work". NOTHING is worth $16 to JUST TRY ON.

I have almost given up on buying items that require fit online...nothing seems to be standard and then there are imperfections and quality control matters too.I think I like to choose my items in person so that I can evaluate and get something that meets my expectations.

I buy from the sources listed plus I look for stores that participate in Shop Runner which is a benefit of AMEX. Free 2-day shipping and free returns. Lord and Taylor, Bon Ton, etc.
