Sharing New Dooney info

At least for me, it's new information. All these years I've been reading the forum and never heard of anyone mentioning this so I thought I would share and hopefully it doesn't disappoint you like I have been disappointed.

I bought a Grafica Pansey Satchel from I love dooney last week and it finally came today. I opened up the box and was less than wow'd and thought, how can I get so excited about buying a bag on the website, opening up the box, looking at the bag and going "yuck".

Well, this is how, I just called Dooney and the customer service woman told me that every bag in that collection is different pending how it's cut. Instead of having all blue flowers on the top and white below, I got blue on the top, white in the middle and blue on the bottom and it looks funky. So what's pictured doesn't necessarily mean that's what you are getting.

Do I have to pay the return shipping...yes. Lesson well learned. Also, they "football" the prices around too, last week it was $9 cheaper than this week.

I think I need to take a break on spending money, ordered a watch from MyHabit last week and they sent me the wrong watch. Now this. Ordered some makeup from Macy's and needed to get that exchanged out due to color too. I need to give myself a break on ordering anything online....turning out to be more work than it's worth.

Well, that would make it hard to buy online then. One would want see their purchase firsthand before deciding. You wonder if that's not best anyway. Don't we always take a risk when ordering a new item?

That's just the nature of ordering online; we can't see/touch/smell the item, we take it on faith. And sometimes we are disappointed. I still perfer online shopping to schlepping from mall to mall.

ILovedooney is a GREAT site. Yes - prices change regularly, that's why checking it often can save u lots of money. Other sites change more often, i.e., 6pm.com & kohls. I've bought many Dooneys on ILD - but they were all solid colors and were perfect. Just stick with the solid purses - with their very low prices and free shipping to u, it's worth checking again. Just pay to send the purse back and buy another. When I purchased many, many pairs of Birkenstocks from 6pm.com - I had to pay to send 2 pairs back - but saving so much money on all the other pairs that fit me perfectly, I'm way ahead.

Nantucket Shore, I'm sorry you got a yucky bag. What a disappointment. ${#emotions_dlg.sad}$

Did it say anywhere in the description that the bag you receive might not match the picture? That each one varies? If not, I would call CS back and get your return shipping covered. When buying online, all you have to go off of is the photo and description, and if you receive something that doesn't match those, and nowhere were you warned that that might be the case, then you really shouldn't be penalized for returning it.

The pink one came in another box and same for that one........I saw these bags at Bon Ton and should of just bought it when I saw it....just wasn't meant to be.

I'll just send them back, not going to worry about the return shipping....would of been nice if they offered return shipping both ways.

I will never order anything again from ILOVEDOONEY! I did my first order from them and after I did, my bag was delivered quickly, but I got lucky because I noticed you can't call them. Took me forever to find a phone number for this company and out of curiosity I dialed the number to see if it was actually a working phone number and to my not being surprised all it did was ring and then it hangs up on you. When I received my bag, they didn't even put a return address on their label. Thank goodness the bag was in perfect condition and I didn't have to send the bag back for return. I got lucky this time, but I surely won't order from them because of the lack of a good phone number with them. I just don't trust this company for that. You can't speak to a rep. Not good.

I remember seeing a Dooney pansy presented on QVC in pink, blue, or yellow. Lisa was the host, and pointed out that one of the colors (yellow, I think) was made different from the other two colors just in the way you described.

This isn't anything new but sorry you didn't know! Years ago (maybe 8 to 10?) they had a cute Parisian type coated cotton print that was so cute. Our two daughters loved it and we got them both a wristlet. One was a sr in high-school and the other going off to college. Anyway the wristlets arrived in the mail and both prints were completely different as far as placement goes. We got them online from Nordies and were able to take them to the store and exchange for ones that had the little french girl on the front.

I love ILD! I've gotten great deals from them and they do take returns.

I agree Bling, I don't like ILD either. Their customer service is nonsense and the complete inability to reach anyone is ludicrous. Moreover, if you actually do reach anyone, which happens rarely, they typically can't resolve your issue... I'm Dooney-saturated these days, so am not buying many from anywhere, but should I opt to select a Dooney bag down the road, despite their sometimes good pricing, it probably won't be from them... For me, it works better to wait for a good sale that includes designer bags.
