Just about finished my seasonal closet switch.  This morning I did the shoes.

For me, the best thing about the switch is finding all the shoes I bought on sale at the end of the season last year .... put away for this year and forgot about .... and finding them today.

Well .... when I dumped out the shoes this morning ... I was pleased to see what I bought (and forgot) last year.... and don't need to buy any new ones.

I'm going to do it in another month.  It's still too hot to wear boots and it doesn't really get cool until the end of Oct.

For days that it's a little cool, I'll wear sneakers but right now I'm mostly still wearing sandals.

I am in the midwest and wear open toed shoes (not sandals) until its chilly.  I wont wear socks until there is snow on the ground and my feet get cold...I just don't like socks.

@Mom2Dogs

I live in NYC and won't walk around on (dirty) city sidewalks with open toe shoes.

Always closed shoes .... and I always wear some sort of socks.  I think bare feet in shoes is "icky."

Depending on shoes - socks, knee high hose, pantyhose, compression socks ... always something between foot and shoe.

A few yeara ago when I asked my Long Island podiatrist if there was any promising new research on bunions.  His answer: You're going to Florida for the winter -  just wear sandals.

In Florida, I asked my podiatrist the same question.  His answer:  The sandals you're wearing are the best medicine for that bunion.

It's always my left bunion that's the problem, but the right doesn't hurt me and repairing it wouldn't let me wear different shoes.  And would mean I'd have to go into self-paid rehab or hire help at home for at least a month.  Not worth all the dislocation let alone the cost!

@ALRATIBA.  But do you have a pair of stylish lug sole loafers?

I have shoe shelves in my closet, so there is no need to change out seasonal shoes. I don't change out my seasonal clothing either,

I also wear sandals until the weather is too cold not to or there is snow on the ground.

I do hate restricting my feet in shoes.  Bare feet is best.

@Kachina624

Nope!  I did buy a pair last year - but ended up donating them to  Goodwill.

I have a 'thing" about the proportion of shoe vs. foot size and leg.

There was just too much shoe for me ....

And no one will ever accuse me of being "stylish."  I prefer to look like "me."

@Carmie

Having space is great ....

When I moved back to NYC .... I gave up a 4 bedroom CA house for a 1 bedroom NYC apartment.

For me ... it was worth the loss of space..
