Re: Receiving others returned merchandise

I get returns all of the time, even if I order when the item is first presented. I just make sure to wash the item (if it's clothing) before I try it on.

Last year, Isaac had a bag as his TSV. I was going to be away and wanted to take it, so I pre-ordered it. When it came - BEFORE presented as a TSV - there was a big scratch across the middle and the zipper wouldn't work, and it had the "famous return sticker" on it. I was so angry. I called and they sent me a new one right away, but it didn't get to me in time for my trip. I sent the previous one back and they refunded the full amount.

As I said, I get returned items all of the time. I can usually tell when an item I order shows up as "in process" for a number of days. I was thinking I was one of the only ones.

They should offer a discount. I didn't know about it and have never asked. I'm sure I would get the standard "you can send it back" answer! {#emotions_dlg.huh}

Re: Receiving others returned merchandise

So what are they supposed to do with returns that were never used? I know I opened the plastic wrapping of the last TSV before I returned it. I didn't remove anything else though. Personally I don't expect QVC or even Dooney themselves to sell something at a discount just because the outer plastic was opened.

I don't mind getting others returned merchandise - I do very much mind getting something that is USED then returned. I have read more than one post on this BB from people who say they bought Dooney bags - used them - didn't like them and returned them. To my way of thinking that is nothing more than stealing when a person returns used merchandise.

It is NOT stealing! It's QVC policy. I really wanted to like this one bag. It unfortunately I couldn't handle the fact that it was extremely narrow, so I decided to return it. I wouldn't call it stealing. They do say to give it a try!!!! More times than not I return items I don't like right away but sometimes it helps to take advantage of the 30-day return POLICY!

I agree. Used stuff should go on As Is though. I've never returned anything I used, but I understand why you returned yours. Sometimes you can't know from just looking at it if it will work. If you couldn't return stuff, no one would shop online because it's hard to be 100% sure if you haven't seen it in person and held it.

Re: Receiving others returned merchandise

Tough kitty..I think the point is, you admitted you used your bag for 30 days and I know I don't care but do you think QVC should now take that bag repack it and send it to someone else for full price? I would hope not. They should sell it " as is " like you said it their policy not mine. If that's their policy they should eat the cost if the bag is damaged. Not throw poo against the wall and hope it sticks. But that's what's happening to me. I'm receiving bags that are obviously used. Honestly I don't understand how women screw these bags up that bad in such a short time. As for stealing I'm talking about women who constantly exchange to a new bag when the 30 is up, rotating. They never had intention of keeping it. All I know is after 20 yrs with QVC they never did this before, I guess times are tight but it is for us too. When I drop 300.00 on a bag, I want a new one that doesn't have someone's funk on it. I don't think that's to much to ask and if it is I'll buy them elsewhere. No biggie.

When an item is returned to a store for a full refund it is expected to be in brand new unused condition - I don't care how you want to twist it around - everyone knows it is wrong to return something you have used for a refund.

and I don't care what you think because I simply follow the policy. EVERY host says TRY IT FOR 30 days and if you don't like it, you can return it.
Even if they do say it, you must know you are trashing the item before returning it. Costs the company money which any business passes the cost back to the consumer.
Oh Lord, I'm NOT trashing anything!!!! I am careful with my bags. If you have an issue with QVC policy, go complain to them. They write it off as an expense so they can pay less taxes on their income. I'm sure they are not hurt by this. And I'm not abusing this policy but it's there when one needs it. Also very helpful if after a few uses it turns out that the item is defective!

By using it you trashed it - no one else wants to pay full price for it now.It's second hand now. You would be complaining if you got a used purse and were charged full , new, price for it.

Yep, looks like it's a general practice. If it's an immediate return, as a jacket I got and I can see that the extra buttons are still attached to the hanger, then I'll keep it. But the GILI Roma I got had someone's hair inside it and cracked handles!!!! And I bought it on clearance as supposedly a NEW merchandise! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

Hair inside? So much no!! Yuck. {#emotions_dlg.mad} And you KNOW there is no way the people packing this stuff up to send it out can't tell. No possible way.

Re: Receiving others returned merchandise

Just because they give you 30 days to send it back does not mean USE IT for 30 days for free and then return it used. It means you have 30 days to check it out and decide if you want to keep it BEFORE you use it.

Re: Receiving others returned merchandise

Maybe I am missing it but I am not seeing where anyone said they carried a bag for a full 30 days and returned it. I have purchased a bag (Amy K) and loaded it up and carried it to the store and came home, unloaded it and shipped it back. It was a $250 bag that weighted a ton once loaded but I could not tell that without doing what I did.

I am not a serial return bag person, but in that instance, I was happy about the return policy. My last orYany bag that I paid full price was a return. It was not wrapped but you could tell someone just unwrapped it and tried it on and shipped it back. I truly consider that new.

I think Q just needs to inspect a little more carefully. I don't mind new (when something was just unwrapped and inspected) but I do mind used if I am not buying it as is.

I agree. As long as a bag sold as new is pristine, I have no worries, but don't want to pay full price for something sold as new that truly should be sold 'as is'.
