Re: REMEMBERING SHOES FROM LONG AGO

Pony was a brand of athletic shoes.  I had a pair my freshman year in college and wore them out running stairs in the field house.

As a kid my mom bought us two pairs of shows each year - always from Sandler of Boston. FYI if you’ve never heard of them. https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/sandler/58/

Re: REMEMBERING SHOES FROM LONG AGO

Saw a pair of sling back QVC last evening.  low chunky heel, almost a sqaure toe,

came in patent black and colors for over $100.00.   I wore those when I went on

my first trip to Las Vegas in 1967.  They where white and yellow leather and of

course no where near $100.00

As I try to picture the shoes I wore with my pleated uniform skirt, I can’t think past the knee socks! I don’t care if it was 90 degrees, most of us wore them to enhance the legs instead of anklets.

Mary Jane flats in high school....black patent leather. They  were ultra cool in the late 60s.

I remember Puma from the 1960's.  They were sold in high end department stores.  Not only did they have sneakers, but there were women's dressy and everyday styles.

Saddle shoes, penny loafers, then white go go boots took over!

I remember  Keds sneakers from the 1960's called the Peppermint Twist from Chubby Checker's dance "the twist".  The sneakers were white with red and white striped laces.

Re: REMEMBERING SHOES FROM LONG AGO

What I remember more than specific brands are the styles I liked -  spike heels and wedges nearly as high.  What I miss most are the feet that could tolerate those styles or even anything remotely close.
