Question about fabric Nina A213636

Is this a good deal for this Nina bag? Does it really have only an 8 inch strap? I saw it in the black with the gold zipper a few months ago and it looked gorgeous, but I didn't try it on. Now that I've purchased black Liinea for spring/summer/fall, I see I need a larger quality black bag that's not heavy.
