Mainly out of curiosity...and not to complain since I got great deals during the holidays through Belk, Macy's and Dillards...
There are no D&B outlet stores in my state so I don't know what kind of deep discounts are to be found in them. To me, when I think of outlet stores, I think of "seconds"...not perfect condition products, no matter what it is...handbags, silverware, etc....like the seaming is off or some little aspect just isn't exactly right...anyway...
I also have been browsing sellers on EBay who really offer some AWESOME deals on D&B. All the pics show the bags as legit, and they have perfect feedback ratings, so how are the sellers able to give such great deals on brand new bags and still make a profit for their time?...if they are selling a brand new/never used bag with tags, for example at 50% of the original retail cost...and I have never seen stores/QVC sell even "as is" bags for that low...do outlet stores sell D&B bags for 25-30% of their original value?
And I have read that many D&B fans do buy at outlet stores...so none are "seconds" either?
I have no desire to sell anything on EBay...but would appreciate some enlightenment...TIA

Hi Susan Louis - I've been selling my Dooney's on ebay for awhile - maybe over a year. I'm only speaking for myself here. I always have great luck selling my Dooney's as I generally start the bidding at half of what I paid for them and I offer free shipping. My bags are in like new condition but I have to list them as pre-owned since they have been carried outside the home. Usually I'll get back a little more than half of what I paid brand new. No, I'm not making a profit, but at least I'm getting back some funds to use towards my next Dooney purchase, plus it keeps my collection down to a reasonable number. My Florentine bags almost always sell for quite a bit more than my original asking price, so there is still a huge demand for a good deal on a Florentine bag. So that's my input! Happy New Year!

Hi Diane, and thanks, this is good to know, as I'm considering unloading some excess baggage (Dooney and otherwise) as well as some jewelry and other items and it's always helpful to know how to gauge things over there...
