Re: QVC does not allow negative reviews

[ Edited ]

They clearly do allow negative reviews -- I've seen many very negative ones, some of them especially puzzling since they often indicate the person doesn't even own the product.   So I agree it's confusing and rather odd, sometimes, to see what's approved for publication.

QVC doesn't handle or manage product reviews -- they contract out the review process to a company called "Bazaarvoice."    It's a separate system, unrelated to what we post here in the Community and QVC Social Team's forum management.

I've seen frequent complaints about the questionable nature and unreliability of the posted reviews, but never have I seen any evidence that we can contact the company and ask questions or have our unpublished review reconsidered.

I just looked, and these are the instructions I see provided at the initiation of the review process:

"Tips for Writing a Review
  • Use the product before reviewing it
  • Focus on the product's features and be specific
  • Avoid timely information such as price and promotional details
  • Avoid information about other companies and websites
  • Avoid inappropriate language and attitude
  • Avoid personal information -- we want to protect your privacy!"

I read negative reviews all the time. Maybe you should consider there was something within your review that was not allowed.

Yes, don’t give your opinions on specific show hosts🙄. Fact of the matter is you would think they would want to know when the viewer turns the channel when certain hosts are on air. 🤷🏼‍♀️   I have three that I absolutely can’t watch no matter what they are hawking.

@summergal1, the product reviews are supposed to be just that: your opinion on a product, not anything else (shipping, price, and certainly not anything about hosts).

Re: QVC does not allow negative reviews

You are posting on QVC's site, so they have say over what is posted. That being said, I've seen plenty of negative reviews as I search reviews for items, so I don't know what you're talking about.  And I agree with the person who said your negative review is pointless without the specifics of the item you're speaking of....

I have had negative reviews printed.

Re: QVC does not allow negative reviews

I’ve left plenty of negative reviews.   There are certain rules, however, like not mentioning another brand name and a few things like that.  QVC does accept negative reviews, but be specific about what is wrong with the item.   You need to read the guidelines.

I just sent a negative comment tonight about Renee'  Greenstein and her "ooooowwwwws".  She was over the top tonight--course she was w/a new host (Ali)  who had absolutely no control over that lady, but I find her to be very loud and obnoxious.  If I didn't like the fit of her clothes so much, I'd have switched the channel on the first "oooowwwww" which would have been w/in the first 10 minutes of a 2 hour show!

Not sure what you mean, @milyily. Where did you post this negative comment? If it's somewhere here on the message board, that's generally okay, within reason.

But the topic here has to do with posting a product review on that product's page.

Re: QVC does not allow negative reviews

I also left a negative review about the obsessive talking from two hosts and tacky styling from another and they were deleted. If they don't want suggestions from customers they can't improve .
