If you do not have a problem with your knees, or legs, and are bow legged DO NOT purchase Orthaheels VIONIC. It has cost me a lot of money since I tried a pair and VIONIC is not acknowledging that the shoes caused my tear or all the problems I am having with my knee. Costing me a fortune and a lot of pain. I cannot believe that a company would not stand up and take responsibility.

My question - what did your podiatrist suggest when you told him/her what kind of shoe you were planning to buy? If you were already bow legged, you must have known that you have medical issues. Sounds more like YOU were being quite irresponsible.

It's NOT the responsibility of shoe manufacturers or salespersons to tell a customer NOT to wear their product. The responsibility is with the consumer to know if they have a medical issue and act adult and accordingly.

Re: No Problem With Your Knees

If Vionics are designed for people who walk on the inside of your feet, and you walk on the outside of your feet, don't buy Vionics. If you are "bow legged" or have any other specific, professionally diagnosed condition that affects your ability to walk and/or use your hips, thighs, knees, shins, calves, ankles, I steps, toes, heels, don't "try" Vionics/Orthoheels unless you have requested and received input from your professional advisor. Re: No Problem With Your Knees

It is obvious to me that this OP is looking for some way to blame Orthaheel for her problems and maybe exact some $$$$ restatution from them when , in fact, this was no one else's fault but her own.

Are your Vionic shoes also responsible for that cavity you have and for your hair loss ? LOL

Sounds like you had a pre-existing condition. You should have checked before you bought them.

debcakes, that is interesting. Did they say what type feet you have and why they would not work for you? Just ordered a pair to try out...thought they might be better than the Yellow Box brand of flip -flops I wear .

I walk more on the outside of my foot, though not too badly. Most good shoes are ok for me. The ones they suggested at the shoe store were call Finn Comfort. They were ugly and way over $200. I did not buy them.

gazelle77, did you find you were taller after your knee replacement surgery? I have a gf who did gain inches in height after her surgery. I guess it depends on the degree the legs were bowed-- she was very bow-legged.

I was very bowed, and yes, I did notice when I got home especially from hospital that when I opened the fridge I was viewing contents from a taller height!... LOL!. It may be only an inch... but it makes all the difference.

I was SO EMBARRASSED about my bowed legs for years... bought only certain wide leg pants to try to hide the disfigurement.... I would cry looking in the mirror... and people believe it or not would make comments about my bowed legs.. things like DID YOU RIDE HORSES AS A CHILD... I would many times at work go into the bathroom and cry. Some people would say it was cute.... so so not true! Painful figuratively as well as physically.... and horrible to live with especially as a woman. Now I am not only pain free from my arthritis, my legs are straight and I put on tighter pants and look proudly in the mirror. No one would ever even give thanks to straight legs until they experience being either bowed out or knock kneed from arthritis. I give thanks everyday when I look at my legs now!Smile

Before me gf's surgery, she walked very slowly/poorly with a sideways rocking gait and needed to hold on tightly to railings if steps were the only way of getting up or down an area-- same problem as you, OA. She walks perfectly fine now. She constantly says how happy she is with her new knees!

Re: No Problem With Your Knees

These have saved my heel spur.

My heel does not hurt since I started wearing these full time.

I also have arthritis in my knees, left really bad. and have not had any more trouble since I started wearing the ortoheels.

I have MANY pairs and sneakers too.
