My review of the Earth Origins TSV boot

My boots arrived yesterday and they are pretty much as I expected.  Earth Origins  occupies the lowest rung on the Earth line ladder, and I had purchased last year's TSV, so I knew what kind of quality to expect.

Pros:  They are very comfortable, and they run spot-on true to size.

          The color (almond) is lovely.

The "shoe" part of the boot is well made.

          The hardware is decent.

Cons:  The construction of the boot shaft is mediocre at best.  Lots of raw edged leather which is very thin to begin with.

The double zipper is weird.  The zipper on the "outside" is functional too, although I don't think it needs to be.  (Some may find this aspect to be a pro rather than a con, I just have an aversion to useless moving parts.)

For the amount of time I wear high boots these were a good choice for me because of the comfort factor.  If you are a high boot fanatic, you might find these boots lacking.

If I were grading them I'd give them a B-.  I am satisfied with this purchase.

I received 2 pair of these boots and I am very happy with them. I wear my boots like my sneakers and like to have a variety of styles and colors.

I almost went for it but the boot appeared too short for a high boot.  I don't care for the turn-up on the toe.

@faeriemoon

Thank you for the review.

Do you have room in the toe box area?

I have a high arch and was wondering about this boot.

@butterfly123 Yes; plenty of room.  I ordered the 7M.  Ordinarily I would lean toward the 7W, but since boots are generally made to accommodate a heavier sock, and I hate heavy socks and don't wear them, I got the M.  My toes will be happy; just enough wiggle room.

I got the medium calf which will be perfect when worn with pants tucked in. In my shorts however, they were kind of roomy.  (It was quite a look.)

Re: My review of the Earth Origins TSV boot

I watched and watched the presentations of this boot and still did not notice the amount of elastic, instead of leather, on the back of the boot.  I don't like that!  I have not received mine, yet but I am prepared to be disappointed.  I guess I should chill until I see them.

Good balanced review. I was tempted but when I zoomed in on the boot, I thought it looked cheap. But what would you expect for that price, right? I wonder if they will hold up?

Does anyone know how they compare to last year's Earth Origin boot TSV?

I have two pairs of these and absolutely love them. I'm tall with long legs and the shaft is nice and tall. The one which was is being reviewed in this thread didn't seem as tall to me, although both are listed as 14 inches tall. And in another thread I complained about the lug soles in that TSV, but lo and behold I have been wearing last year's which also have lug soles and I love them. I had forgotten. LOL

@BriggsiePeawiggle  Although the style  is slightly different, they are exactly the same in all other aspects.
