Is such a disappointment. I just received what I thought was a new/pristine bag from Macy's fulfillment center when in actuality it was sent from another Macy's store. The bag appeared to be a display model, scratched and tossed around a bit before they jammed it into a box and sent it to me.
No plastic protecting the bag and handles, no stuffing in the bag and only one piece of paper covering the bag on the top before they taped the box shut. It looked horrible. Even the shoulder strap which was already attached to one end of the bag was just shoved in the bag and unprotected.
I called customer service and spoke to a nice rep who told me that Macy's will always try to ship a bag from another store if it is available even when a customer requests it be shipped brand new from the fulfillment center. I wanted a second one since receiving my Small Wilson in tangerine from D&B last week which was beautifully wrapped and on sale for $261 with free shipping. I ordered the black from Macy's because of the exact sale price plus an additional 20% discount. I guess if I want another color, I'll have to order from D&B directly.
Have any of you had similar experiences ordering from Macy's? Luckily, they credited my credit card immediately and will be mailing me a prepaid UPS label to send it back so I don't have to drive an hour each way to return it.
