We are lucky to have a couple of old school shoe stores close by that will measure your feet if you want, bring different shoes out and provide feedback. They carry many name brand higher end shoe brands, casual, athletic, dress etc.
Zappos has free shipping and free returns, they also sell through Amazon sometimes.

Fortunately, I have still have some nice shoe stores and departments in my city.
I rarely buy shoes online. I really need to try them on first. Depending on style, material, and brand, my size can be a whole size or 1/2 size larger. I have a narrow heel and a bunion on one foot. Definitely don't want the hassle of returning shoes.
The only time I ordered online was when I loved a shoe I saw in my local Dillard's, but I wanted a color they didn't have in stock. I was able to try it on in another color, and then they shipped the color I wanted to my house. 👍
