Want a lightweight bag for the summer. One I can pack in my suitcase and then fill it up when I get there. I think I would like the lightweight Nylon/Leather combo. And lots of colors to choose from. Does anyone have or know about this bag. Wondering if it is durable.

I bought this for our daughter to use at college. She loves it and the bag is very durable...it gets much use and looks new.

ETA...Sorry, I was confused which style I purchased. It is in fact a Planetes. This is a heavier nylon than the Le Pliage.

I bought Le Pliage for my daughter a couple of years ago. It really is a workhorse and a nice-looking bag.

Funny story, though: I went into Nordstrom to buy it. The sales person brought out a tiny item from the back and placed it on the counter. "Oh", I said, "Does the Longchamp have a gift-with-purchase?" She laughed and said, no, that the tiny package IS the Longchamp. The nice big bag comes in a bracelet size package!

Have them, love, love, love them! The largest one in black and two mediums; one in gunmetal and one in beige. Great for travel.

Wow, sounds like everyone loves these bags. I love the simplicity of the bag and yet there is something so classic about it. Thanks for all the reviews. BTW sassenach1, that is a funny story. They do wrap up to a small little package.

My niece looked at these bags for her things she hauls around at college but one night she was watching HSN and saw Joy Mangano selling a similar-looking bag, I think last year. Now she can afford to buy LC but she decided to try one of Joy's bags (sale price was around $25). She got it home and loved it and it was easier for her to get into than the Le Pliage AND had a 10-year warranty. She (and I) bought her all the colors to go with her outfits and she still uses them and they really hold up for her. She loves to save money and while the status part isn't there, she likes Joy's version more.

I travel to Paris at least 1x/year and from the time I started traveling there on a regular basis (back in 2000) I always see women carrying the Le Pliage.

I purchased one for my mom and she used it a lot before she died. It still looks as new as the day that I bought it for her.

The great thing about it is that it is made to be folded up and you can carry it in your regular purse and pull it out to use when needed.

I love going into the Longchamp store in Paris and just looking at the beautiful handbag displays they do. In the spring they put out all their pastel-colored bags and I just drool at the sight.
