Just ordered a pair of Birkenstock loafers, but it's a clog style in the back from their website.  Nice sale as well.

Re: Loafer Lovers....

I have worn loafers almost exclusively since the 7th grade.  I started with Old Maine Trotters and other brands, and have worn Coach quite a bit too, but now have Talbots in every color they've made I think. They are lighter weight and softer than the more structured ones.

Having worn low heels most of my working life and real heels when need be only, I find this excellent for every day wear and like the slip on feature of loafers. Plus they are pretty in colors.

I keep a couple of pair of sneakers for rain and emergencies only.  I hate wearing them. And a few pair of dress shoes--flat and very low heel.

my loafers, from jr./high school were Bass Weejens. Loved them. Love Talbots, but they don't carry wides, any more.

i just saw an ad on facebook, for Hush Puppies. good comfort in those shoes.

I like a good looking loafer and you've posted some beautiful ones @gertrudecloset .  My foot is a regular size 8 and I have no problems wearing them.

I love wering loafers. I have many pair but have not found any for fall that i like that are reasonlby priced and leather. I prefer plain with no tassles or metal on them. Comfort is key for me....The Naturalizer Kellyn was my favorite; I bought four pair and only have two pair left...and they no longer make them.

They're all cute. I'd wear all of them.

I still have the Weejuns I wore in college, but they're a size smaller than I wear now.

I bought a pair of Hush Puppies.  They came in a wide and were cut lower on my instep.

Funny you should mention loaferts today. I've been trying to decide between the convertible loafers on the left and the mules on the right. I've finally decided on the mules, I think they'll look better with more clothing options. business in the front, party in the backSmiley LOL

@Sooner Loafers were part in of my school uniform in seventh grade. They were lightweight and had to be in polished. So comfy. They probably came from ThomMcAnn or Kinney's Shoes. These shoe stores may be regional. I have been looking for loafers so I can wear with socks.
