I agree with you. I want leather or suede 100%. I think the boot makers started this look to accomodate all the different calf widths or with/without jeans. That said, it would be fine except most of prices don't reflect the lack of leather/suede on the boot. That's where I have the "real" problem.
I have the opposite problem fo rmyself because my legs are thin from the knees down. However, when I'm shopping for my daughter in law (who is petitie and curvy with a wide width shoee) this is the boot that I need for her.
I still think we need more variety to accomodate all widths both in the calf and shoe.

Well if they don't make something new they wouldn't know whether it can become a trend or not. However, this mixed media fashion innovation does seem to be a failure. Like most of us, I also prefer all leather or all suede. I also do not mind vegan leather.
