I was considering their natural handbag...leather looks great and has very good reviews. I called to ask about how the bag is treated for water/stains etc. as I have the FLV satchel and am having staining after little use. The CS asked the product tech specialist who told me that they don't have info on the bag being treated, they think it is 'naked' untreated, and they think that it will likely stain in water, and it needs to be dry cleaned by a leather specialist. They are going to get more info about the bag and add it to the webpage info.Maybe they will find out that it is safe in weather, but I am not holding my breath for it.
Part of my frustration is that I want a natural bag that will age and have a patina but not one that is fussy and will stain. I know I had a bag like this many years ago and I used to treat bags, shoes , and boots etc. with mink oil, and that was it..no fuss. Now mink oil is OUT if you read about leather care, and all the natural bags I see need special care. I was hoping a company that makes great quality outdoor items would have a sturdy leather handbag that didn't need to be fussed over. Not sure this bag is going to be it.
Anyone here have a natural leather handbag from LLBean that has stood the test of time?
