We wore white fabric Keds for PE.  They always had to be clean so we'd polish them.

 

Over the years I've tried various styles for the summer.  The only ones that didn't kill my feet and cause blisters on my heels were the mules. (slides)

I love Keds!  They make them in narrow!  Yes, they are just as comfy as they once were.

I bought a pair of the classic white fabric Keds last year and love them. 

 

I had my way, I would buy new ones and wear them to my daughters bridal shower and wedding!
