Is there such a thing as COMFORTABLE flats?

I have this problem: I love some of the flats that are out there this spring but I can never ever find a comfortable pair. I've had this problem for years. If I buy the size that I wear in heels (8B) the flats always rub blisters on my heels. Always. If I size up a half-size, they just flop around on my feet. I bought a cute pair of Clarks and thought it was going to work out but about mid-day, the pain kicked in and I knew that the blisters had begun. Does anyone else have this problem? Have you found a solution? If so, please advise. Thanks!
