Re: I have heel spurs (plantar facitis) Ouch ouch ouch -- from NEW Vionics☹️😢

Thank you all for your replies!  I can't believe how painful this  heel pain is.  Just got back from podiatrist had x-ray taken & I have heel "bone" spur😳.  He gave me a shot -- told me flip flops (including Vionics, etc) are the worse thing to wear as they have no heel support or foot support for that matter.

I told him I do wear Sketchers go walk ...wasn't to thrilled with them either although I find they are comfy!

As others have said "good supportive shoes" for major walking.  I honestly did not realize how much walking I would be doing while there in fact, my steps total on day #1 was 11,897 oh my!  I guess our previous trip there we stayed close to things around our hotel or bus route.

Thanks again today I'll for sure be wearing my sneaks.  he gave me a shot(OMG never could imagine how that hurt) and exercises and ice to treat it right now!

I suffered from PF back in 2006-2007. I'm basically cured. I've never had another flare up. I discovered Fitflops with the original 'microwobbleboard' technology and I use them as house slippers. As long as I wear them every day, I have no pain and I can wear any type of shoe even heels.

This past January I went on vacation and didn't bring my Fitflops to the beach since I forgot them at my in laws house. We were at a resort. I had to buy regular flip flops. Immediately, I began to have heel pain, PF felt like it was coming back and my knees hurt.

I highly recommend these but only the Fitflops with the original footbed. They change the uppers but the footbed stays as supportive as my first pair. No dots in the footbed. You can find them on sale at Burlington, Marshalls etc. from time to time. I will never stop wearing these.

Aren't heel spurs and plantar faciitis two different issues?

One is a ligament issue, the other is a bony growth.

@ALRATIBA

the heel bone spur according to the dr is in conjunction with PC.

So perhaps one is making the other worse!

@ALRATIBA

They are different medical issues.

I have many pairs of Tide style Vionics most bought at Dillard's or Bealls.

Since q has had them on sale I ordered (recent TSV).  Dear Lord I wore the 1st pair for a week to get used to...they were "uncomfortable and footbed was hard" I just thought I was used to my well-worn pairs.

Then like a idiot I took them to Vegas...we walked everywhere OR I should sayI limped everywhere from the pain in my heels😢Oh my I could barely walk from the heel pain like knives in my heels YET I took a old pair and had no heel pain.

I also took my new pair of style Mona.  Same results😢.

I'm baffled why these shoes are uncomfortable and I know footbed is wider, hard plastic footbed has these little dots of raised plastic & I have to grip my toes to keep them on.

None of my other pairs (many years old) ever had this hard plastic footbed and we're easy to wear right out of box!

Have they changed the figuration or arch?  I made foot doctor appt. perhaps he can give me cordesone shot to calm it down. I can't put shoes on & walk because as soon as my heels touch ground...all I can do is "limp from the pain".

Im calling q tomorrow these definitely need to be returned and I'm not paying return fees...I think they are defective!!!

Anyone else have issues like this???

Only half of persons with plantar fasciitis have heel spurs. Try using use cubes before standing in the morning and at night in bed. Try using a towel, put the towel over the area and pull with your hands on the towel while lying in bed. Try sitting and rolling your feet over cans of cold soda on the floor. Switch shoes.

@homedecor1  When I had pf years ago, my doc suggested Accupuncture after several rounds of cortisone shots didn’t help. The “needles” worked. It was gone in 6-8 appts. & I haven’t had it since. Just something to think about.

I have had foot pain from all that walking in Las Vegas too. You are walking on hard concrete in really hot weather and your feet are probably sweating a lot too. There are 4 Walking Company stores on the Vegas strip as well as Skechers stores so buy a pair of On the Go Skecher flip flops as they are super comfortable. Get some comfortable athletic walking shoes at The Walking Company store and also buy some socks to wear with them. I learned the hard way that you can't wear sandals for a long time in heat in Las Vegas. Not only are you walking a lot but some of those casinos are the size of a football field. If your feet hurt also ice them in your hotel room. Get a couple buckets of ice and dump them into the bathtub and run some cold water and soak your feet.

I also want to add, download the Uber app if you aren't renting a car in Las Vegas. It's easy to get around the strip via Uber and when your feet hurt or you are tired from all that walking, catch an Uber ride to your destination. It's only about $8 U.S. to take an Uber ride from the Paris Casino (which is center strip) to the Fashion Show mall. Save your feet when they are hurting!

Add me to the list of people who got pf from walking around Vegas in flip flops ( birkis in my case).  Resolved it for good with insoles from Good Feet store and monthly reflexology sessions when I'm near a big city ( in Vegas these are all over China town).

Re: I have heel spurs (plantar facitis) Ouch ouch ouch -- from NEW Vionics☹️😢

Hello, hope I can help.  Have had lots of problems with my feet.  Last year, also had heel spurs.  Clerk at Walgreens suggested -- get a tennis ball and roll your foot around that every day.  Like you, I could just about walk and was ready to make an appt. with a podiatrist.  The tennis ball did the trick.  Yes - I could not believe it.  Secondly, I live in Vionics for the ARCH support; however, not all of their shoes have that support now.  I can easily tell now, by looking at the shoe before purchasing, which ones have the support.  If the shoe is too flat, the fit will be like walking in flip flops.  I need something that will raise up the arch.  I used to only buy Birkenstocks when they were on the Q; too bad they don't sell them anymore.  You can get them on-line, but they are quite expensive.  I just bought the Thrill Vionic sneaker on-line ... feels like you are walking on pillows!  GOOD LUCK!
