I had the hardest time making myself wear flats several years ago although I thought they looked cute. I finally just made myself wear them as they were the style. Now I cannot make myself wear heals. I guess it is just what you get use to.

For me, it depends on support. I'm flat footed, and some flats (like ballet shoes) give me none. The most comfortable shoes for me are Dansko Professional Clogs. I wear them slightly large so my heel lifts up and down. I'm delighted that they are now sold on the Q.
