Hi Ladies. I know this isn't a specific Dooney question, but I've just purchased a couple of Dooney's and was curious, how often do you change your handbag? I am asking because I have been using a black bag that I love since December, but since I got my Dooney's, I am itching to change into something different. How often do you change your bags, and do you generally carry dark in winter and lighter in spring/summer? Can I use my Palomino Dooney now even though it is still snowing here? Stevieb - I know you said you were using your Palomino Dooney now. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!!

As infrequently as possible, because I know I'll always leave something critical in my other bag - my wallet, my asthma inhaler, my work ID, whatever.
I've carried the same bag (A7511) nearly every day since November of 2012. I do own some tote bags for occasions where I need more room for a weekend outing. I've recently bought a new Dooney small Lexington tote in Aqua and will use that in the spring, but it's not a crossbody bag, which I really prefer when I need to carry my groceries up the stairs, or take my computer home and back to work. I don't think I'll get as much use out of it, but I couldn't resist the color. I have a Dooney Chelsea Shopper I got on sale before Christmas and it came with a shoulder strap, but not a crossbody strap. When I took it with me for an all day festival, I swapped the strap for my everyday crossbody bag and carried the Shopper crossbody.

I change my handbag several times a week. I own lots of different styles and colors and like to coordinate them with my clothing... either matching or contrasting. I live in a colder climate and tend to use deeper tones in the fall and winter, and lighter and brighter in the spring and summer. But some colors are year round..... palamino, camel, black, navy, royal, red, purple. I wear teal in the colder months and aqua or turquoise in the warmer months, raspberry and plum in the colder months and hot pink in the warmer months.
Switching handbags takes only a minute. I empty the old bag onto the bed and make sure it is completely empty. Then I fill the new bag. If you use a purse organizer it makes it even easier, but I find they add weight, so I don't use them anymore.

I change my bags monthly unless I am going someplace that I specifically need to change it for. As for colors I do think it is what you feel comfortable with. I do tend to use the darker colors, mostly black, in the winter months and then in the Spring and Fall I use the browns. In the Summer months I use my whites, and pastels. I live in New England and I see all colors all year round so I feel it is what you feel comfortable with. Enjoy your new bag!

I change my handbags once per month.

When the one I currently have my stuff in won't work with what I'm wearing.

I now only change my handbags once a season with the exception of the quick shopping trips where I rotate a crossbody organizer bag. I used to change them every week but it just got to be too time consuming for me. I also did not have everything in each bag. I now purchase bags that are similar in size and number of inside pockets to be sure that I have all of my ""vitals"". This has made my life a bit easier especially when I have the opportunity to grab my purse and go.

Almost every day I think.
Sometimes more than once a day if the outfit/occasion calls for it.
I'm one of those who doesn't like any kind of organization so it's about a 15 second changeover for me. I don't think twice about it.
However, if instead, I happened to be someone who prefers to put all those wee things in little pockets everywhere then I don't think I'd ever change my bag ... I'm too lazy.
I do stuff a lot of my empty softer bags with paper so they hold their shape. That's the only annoying thing about changing bags as although it's the work of a second to whip the paper out, putting the bag away properly at the end of the day is tiresome. That's probably why most of my bags are rigid - they don't need stuffing!
I'm the laziest person ever.

I carry one bag until it is no longer presentable, then I replace it. I have neither the budget, nor the storage room, for multiple bags.
