Re: HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SHOES?

Anywhere I can find a spot.   (That's why I can never find the ones I want to wear.)

@Tinkrbl44,

I think it really depends on how many shoes you have.

My daughter has a whole wall of shelves with shoes.

I have a small closet with a hanging canvas shelf shoe bag and the rest I store on the floor, in bags or in a canvas bag for a winter boot pair under the bed.

It really does depend on the size of your closet and number of shoes.

If you have a lot I would get some kind of shelves, and if not a lot, the over the door or over the closet bar shoe bags.

I don't like those on the floor shelves for anything. They take up unnecessary room and you always have to reach down or around for the shoes you want.

ITA ... in the past, I've stored the frequently worn shoes in my closet and the less used (boots, evening high heels, etc)  in a zippered under bed storage chest that could hold 12 pair.

Uh oh .....   I think I have fallen down the closet re-organizing rabbit hole ..... LOL

@Tinkrbl44 I store my shoes in the original boxes on the built in shelves in my closet. Only my house shoes sit on the floor to be convenient when I remove the day's shoes and return them to the box.

When I purge my closet I donate the gently used styles. The thrift store knows the brand and size because they are in the original box.

Re: HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SHOES?

I keep my shoes in their boxes with the exception of a few pairs of everyday shoes.  The boxes are stacked on the floor of a double closet for easy access.  The boxes are stacked by category; eg: dressy, dress, casual, summer, and winter.  The last 2 are rotated by season, the dressy don't get much use anymore.  Dress shoes are now black, navy, and luggage color flats.  Casuals are pretty much the same.

Believe it or not: this is what works for me:  a large Baker's Rack!  I can get about 30 pairs of shoes on it.  I have a walk-in closet, but it is a very modest size.  A Baker's Rack takes up about 1/2 of one of the longer walls.

I keep my shoes in the box.  If there isn't a picture of the shoe on the end, I'll label it with a black marker or add an index card if the box is black.

I stack them on the shelf above the hanging clothes and overflow goes on the floor under the hanging clothes.

Re: HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SHOES?

The shoes I wear most frequently are hanging up in a canvas shoe holder. I also keep most others in their shoe boxes on open shelves in the closet.I have one large inexpensive, cardboard box with a cover that I use strictly for flats (mostly worn in Summer). It is tucked under a low cabinet. I don't like keeping things on the floor, because it is harder to clean the floor and easier to trip over.

Mine are stored in their original boxes and stacked & organized on the closet floor by type and color.

I only have 9 pair, so they are stored upright in a Rubbermaid container.

Re: HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SHOES?

r@Tinkrbl44  I am going to keep an eye on this post because DH just recently helped me to customize my closet , but I still have not decided how to organize my shoes. I am not a shoe collector but would like to keep what I have visible and useable.

@ALRATIBA  I  love the clear  (inexpensive too ) shoebags for the back of a utility closet door and our household tools closet . You can see everything at once and they hold a lot. I do not have the right type of door for my clothing closet though.
