Does anyone know if the handle cracking problems, with this bag, have been resolved? I really would like to get a couple - if this has been fixed.

Hi Kelly. I have to tell you that I ordered a few of the GILI bags and all had to be returned. The last one I received was the Espresso last Tuesday, and the handles came cracked even before I had a chance to use it. I love the bag so much, and it's really a shame that this is an issue. Lisa had it on her show last night, and I watched hoping that she might address the issue since so many have experienced this. But she did not. I wouldn't chance it if I were you. Just my opinion.

I don't know how it would be resolved, what they are selling are the same lot of bags that were originally manufactured, I would wait for a Roma 3 and then check if the issue has been resolved.

For me it's a matter of trust. Obviously there is a quality issue that Lisa and the Q aren't acknowledging. Until it's addressed and resolved I will not order.

Thanks guys - I also noticed she didn't mention the issue (not that I really expected her to, but it would have been admirable). It is such a cool looking bag. It would be so nice if QVC would address this up-front to it's customers. I have shopped with them for 25 years. Lisa talked about this bag, last night, like it was the 9th wonder of the world - never a mention of an issue that is all over the reviews section. Too bad. I have sent defective things back to the Q, with all shipping charges credited back to my account, but it is still a bummer wanting to like something so much and having to return it.

I don't think they have been resolved. I ordered the bag but hadn't gotten around to using it but am returning because I do no want to have to deal with the cracking handle debacle and be stuck with it..... The thing that gets me is that they keep on trying to sell this bag and know that there is a problem with it.
I used to like Lisa a lot but with her monied comments and how you are judged by it and the roma problem and every gili item I purchase I return, she is just not worth it anymore!!!

I too am flummoxed that they continue to hawk this bag without some mention of having addressed the issues, if they have, which I'm assuming they haven't. I'd suspect that Lisa can't take it upon herself to bring it up without permission from Q "corporate" (if she wants to keep working) but I can't fathom that they keep on selling this bag, I guess just assuming those that have problems will send it back and those who don't will be satisfied. It just seems sort of shoddy to me. I would've expected better of them. It appears I was wrong.

I have the ostrich in this bag. I must be one of the lucky ones as I preordered the bag. I have used it every day since it was delivered, sometimes as a tote. I have no problems to date. In fact, I was out in the rain on Saturday and today, and even though it had some rain on it, there is no damage or staining from water spots. I will say that I used a good leather moisturizer on it the day it came (as I do with all of my leather bags). I can only speak for myself.....I love this bag!!!!! Do I wish it had a closure, sure, but, it is not a big deal. I keep the contents in smaller cosmetic type bags as I always do. That is just me...I like being organized and I know exactly where to find what I'm looking for. I have no idea why the Q would resend returned defective bags out; one would think those would be returned to the manufacturer. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved soon.

Please use a good quality leather to make your bags! We are having to return the GILI bags. The handles crack!!! What's it going to take to get your attention? We're spending our hard earned money on these low quality bags.
