Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

Please tell me, can you get much in this bag or is it too narrow? Only 3 inches. I have the Roma 2 and LOVE it I would love to get one in a summer color. That petal is calling my name. Please let me know if you can get much in it.

On 2/20/2015 katieqr said: I Have my terracotta loaded up to carry today. I revise what I said earlier about size. Once I started putting things in it, it's a little smaller than I thought but that is good and what I wanted. I would say now it's a medium bag on the smaller side of medium. I will let you know how it carries. The pebble leather on the terracotta is wonderful.

Hi katieqr: SeSam (directly above) is wondering more about the size of this backpack, so I thought I would reply to your post about it being on the smaller size of medium. How does it carry for you? I haven't loaded mine up yet.

To TK: You were wondering how we were going to use these backpacks. While it's a backpack, I don't really see it as such. I see it as an attractive purse that will look cool on your shoulder OR give you a hands-free opportunity to carry other things in your hands if you wear it on your back. It's really not large enough to carry folders or books. It's a super hip purse!

Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

I got my Terracotta purse today Smile

It's a very pretty neutral tan color (lighter than I thought it would be). For me it is a medium sized bag. I bought the Lori Greiner purse organizer set for the last GILI TSV. I use the large one for the black pebble bag, and the small one fit nicely into this new backpack purse (item H200475). The purse organizer keeps everything organized well.

The leather on the purse is soft and gorgeous. I clipped one of the two straps on to use as a shoulder bag (doubt I will use as a backpack). So I can wear it in the crook of my arm or on the shoulder. The only thing I don't like is the way the drawstring gets in the way of the magnetic clasp. I have to position the drawstring to the side to get the magnetic clasp to close. But I guess you could just pull the drawstring tight and let the flap simply hang over (would probably magnetically close on its own eventually).

I really like this purse. It looks fresh for spring. Hope everyone loves theirs, and wears it in good health!

I am torn between the petal and the terracotta.

Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

Well, I have carried the terracotta and I am carrying the brown snake today... as I said before I ordered those two plus the snow leopard..

I like the way the bag carries over the shoulder with one of the backpack straps. I don't carry as a back pack and have no interest in the back pack style.

I find this bag smaller than I expected as I am used to carrying a Roma 2... the Roma is my work bag... this bag is too small to be a work bag but I am carrying it as a weekend bag or on days when I don't need all my work things. I carry my wallet and some make up in the main compartment and leave the back zipper pocket open to drop my keys in and my cell phone... works much better than opening and closing the flap for my keys and phone. I like it like that... it's not heavy at all and I really like it.

I have not carried the snow leopard and am not going to. I am returning it... while I think the chalk and gray pattern is lovely and stunning, I just don't like the leather. It has a heavy, grainy feel and feels almost like a corduroy to me.

I am debating between the terracotta and brown snake. The terracotta is a great neutral, but it is a really light tan color... if it were just slightly darker it would be my choice hands down because I much prefer the pebble leather over the exotic. The brown snake is disappointing because the colors are not rich, brown shades... The pattern is dull ashy brown shades, almost looks old and faded. If the colors were rich brown... it would be my choice...

So, I think it's likely I will keep the terracotta even though I am not sold 100 percent on the color... but it will go with just about everything this spring and summer... I may end up getting the black after I return two of these...

although I am really waiting to see what the Roma 3 looks like and in what colors and leathers it will be.

Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

About the terracotta color... I see many are asking about petal or terracotta...

I don't have the petal so I can't compare... but I can tell you that the terracotta is not as dark as it appears on line or in the photographs...No where near as dark.... It's not white, but it is a very very very light tan color... almost a beige... in fact, I think I would call it a beige...

Why they call it terracotta is totally beyond me... it would make more sense to call it a nude or something like that.

I think it will be a good spring and summer bag... will go with most spring and summer fashions... but I really wish it were just a little darker or even looked like the photographs...

I have no interest in a pink bag so I can't comment on the petal.

When is the Roma 3 coming out? I am on the fence about this backpack even though I find the petal bag absolutely beautiful. I am just afraid it will be too small. I might have to order it to just see what it is like and be prepared to pay for the shipping charges back.

Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

I saw the terracotta in person the other day, thanks to my friend, Nuck. It is a soft, beautiful bag which is really a nude color. I'm passing for several reasons...it is too small even for the few things I carry...a small wallet, cosmetic bag and eyeglass case. I don't like the north south orientation, I prefer east west. The drawstring must be pulled for it to carry correctly and the flap is so long it would just be a nuisance for me. When carried on the crook of the arm it is fine but just carrying down almost drags on the ground, I'm 5'4". The cross body would have to clip the claws together which would be uncomfortable. For some, this is a perfect bag but I'll stay with the Roma 2 bags plus my Chelsea. I am curious as to when the Roma 3 will be out and if there will be changes to the bag. If you got the TSV BP, enjoy!!

Re: GILI March TSV Backpack has SHIPPED!!!!

I totally agree Waterbaby. My bag arrived a few minutes ago. I couldn't get my wallet, makeup bag, sunglasses etc in it. This bag disappointed me. And...the back side had lines of about an inch long in a few places. For $200, the bag has to function and not be flawed. I put it back in the box.
