For those who love Birkenstocks

Just curious.  How many pairs do you own?

In the summer, I used to wear both Toms and Birkenstocks.  Except for 3 basic pairs, I have moved away from my Toms, sold or donated them and have gone heavily to my Birkenstocks.

I counted yesterday and I have 21 pairs.  Some go and others replace them but I always seem to stay at around the same number.

My favorites  are the suede Arizonas and the Sydney style.

I personally think that 21 pairs is really high, I am minimal in other types of shoes.  I don't own any boots and I wear clogs or my one pair of a Merrell slides in the winter.

Re: For those who love Birkenstocks

Hi @gidgetgh

I love my Birk's, but in the past 3 years, I've been living in my Spencos, only because they go with everything, and can be dressed up a little with a sundress, as well as worn casually.

Whereas, Birkenstocks have more of that "crunchy granola" look to them, not as flattering with sundresses, unless I'm going for the low-key bohemian look.

That said...I've revisted them this summer, and am wearing both my Spencos and Birks, and enjoying them again. Nothing beats their comfort and support.

I have 6 pairs, (I had 7 but consigned a light yellow with white sole pair I seldom wore, a few years back...this summer I was wishing I had them back!)

I'm not good at knowing the names of them but my favorite I own have a toe bar and are a cute Papillo style, in aqua blue. I guess they are closest to the Gizeh look. I get compliments on them whenever I wear them. Most of my others are the two strap buckle types. One pair in black patent, has 3 straps. One pair is one strap/buckle with summer flowers on them and a bright pink sole...those are fun.

I've watched the Birkenstock shows on HSN this summer and am so tempted, because there's a style I don't own but love the look of, Mayari...but...I've held back. I have 4 pairs of Spencos and 6 Birkenstocks, and live in CT where summer is fleeting, so I have enough for now.

Still...got my eye on HSN.... Smiley Happy

Re: For those who love Birkenstocks

When I was very heavy I wore nothing but Birkenstocks.

I still wear them all the time, year 'round, along with other shoes.

I used to purchase them all through QVC, and since they are no longer sold here, I do have trouble inding them.

My local discount store carries a few styles.

They are also never fail cramp shoes. I put 'em on as soon as I'm wakened by leg cramps and within minutes, the cramps are gone.

I have 48 pairs of Birks. Various lines including Original Birkenstock, Birkis, Betula, and Papillio. 18 of the 48 are clogs, the rest are sandals.

Many of these were purchased when QVC sold Birks, a couple are from HSN and a couple that I purchased on Ebay. My favorites styles are Pisa, Sydney, Florida and Tahiti.

I do have other shoes/boots that I wear when I go out, but I pretty much live in Birks.

Re: For those who love Birkenstocks

I love Birkenstocks too!  I have many pairs that I bought from QVC and HSN back in the 90's when there were so many really cute styles.  Papillio and Betula had so many cute ones.

I have a pair that is made of tiny woven strips of leather and a pair that are like linen.  I searched for pictures of them but could only fine one and I cannot post it for some reason.  I also used to order from a seller on eBay, Baumhouse, that was in Germany and sold styles that were not available here.

I have not bought any in recent years as I have not seen any new styles that I like and I already have the basics.

@amyb - HSN has a terrific selection.  Several of mine have come from them.  Including the floral Sydney's.  Love them.

@violann - HSN is a great source.  As is Zappos and Birkenstock dot com.

@gidgetgh I know! I'm SO tempted. But have other priorities right now, and I've been buying a little too much online lately, so I'm "coolin' it", as my mom used to say, lol...for a while.....

And, much as I'd love a new pair...I really don't need any right now.

Let's see how long I convince myself of all that. Smiley Wink

Re: For those who love Birkenstocks

I got these from HSN this year.  I love them.  I don't wear traditional slippers so I use this pair instead.  This pair never goes outside.
