What's with all the "As is" Dooney & Bourke purses, at least 35 of them. Has anyone boughten any of them. There are a lot of them and price is still up there.

I assume because Dooney shows seem to be scheduled more often than they were in the past, so there are bound to be more samples, presentation bags and returns that can't be sold as new than there were before QVC narrowed its focus to fewer brands presented more often. I've bought several of them and overall have been satisfied. Even as-is, QVC does not do truly deep discounts, so the prices aren't really a surprise. For the most part though, one is saving a meaningful amount on these bags and while you can probably net better pricing elsewhere during sales and with coupons, etc., IF you get a pristine bag, the prices for as-is are certainly better than full retail.

I have ordered about 5 or 6 "as-is" Dooney handbags over the years. I have mostly good luck but have had to send back a couple. Most recently I received a mini Florentine crossbody that is adorable and in perfect condition. There are reviews even for "as-is" bags, it is good to read those.

At long last, I finally caved on the most recent Dooney TSV. I resisted it at the time because it's a smaller bag and I don't tend to do well with smaller bags... Then, once it wasn't a TSV I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was , though I note the Dooney site is now selling what looks to be pretty much the same bag (though in Florentine rather than pebble leather) for $368 and calling it the Bristol satchel. Even once this bag started showing up in droves in as-is, I resisted it, again due to the size, but I finally decided I just HAD to see it IRL, so ordered. I have to say this is a VERY cute bag. It is small, but as has been noted, it does offer quite a bit of depth which makes it more workable. This is probably not destined to go down as one of my all-time favorites, because I still prefer a larger bag, but I like it enough to now be considering it in another color, but only when one I want shows up in as-is... Incidentally, the bag arrived in excellent condition with all the bells and whistles attached. No problems with this one.

I've scored many like new/brand new vintage bags and wallets on the Bay (and most of them had the original yellow registration cards, and un-cut tags on the bags). My most impressive bag was in natural Alto leather (made in Italy) with a matching checkbook wallet (both have blue cotton lining) for $150 in brand new condition in 2008! Obviously, the seller had no clue how much they were worth...{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Last year I purchased a Dooney nile croco bag in blue (with yellow highlights) w/ a matching wallet (both in new condition) for $125!

Yes, the deals are incredible if 1) you do your homework and know what to look for in the authenticity of a Dooney, and 2) you find a seller who has no clue. Buy it now is the best feature - and never get into a bidding war.

Personally, I like the vintage AWL bags/wallets (made in USA) and the Italian Dooneys. Wink

To be sure there are great deals to be had on the bay. Sadly, there are also some serious rip offs one can encounter. I shop on the bay but sparingly because when it comes right down to it, I guess there just seem like more opportunities for the transaction to not go smoothly than when dealing with a tried and true retail resource. I do order from the bay occasionally though, because sometimes a good deal is just too hard to resist.

I do Love the Ivy green, although mine is a true Vintage Ivy AWL crossbody Equestrian bag (with matching accessories). I'm a sucker for the quality and the softness of those vintage bags...

BTW, I DID purchase that TSV in Palomino --I was really hoping that my (vintage) zipalong wallet would match it -- but, no{#emotions_dlg.sad} Too dark -- Returned the TSV, in perfect shape w/ all of the accessories. It REALLY irks me when people have to buy an 'as is' w/ missing items!????

It's crazy how Dooney is "repeating" colors; I wish they wouldn't because it's confusing.

My next color is T Moro, since I don't have anything in that deepest brown.
