Clarks...quality and comfort gone!

My favorite shoes of the past...Clarks What has happened? I have a theory...They have tried to make so many styles and the quality and comfort have paid the price.I just looked up shoes on clearance ...Clarks has 46 pair.I am so disappointed in the way this company has decided to go.I have purchased so many pair in the past, but no more!

Last pair purchased! Returned! No matter what style quality no longer exists. Twenty years ago this wasn't the case. Attribute to another company mass production. Bid farewell-🙋

Re: Clarks...quality and comfort gone!

I buy my Clarks shoes at the Clarks shoe store locally. I like to try on shoes before buying. I have not found that their quality has diminished at all in the 10 years I've been buying them. And neither has their comfort, IMO. I appreciate that they now make some styles that are width adjustable with velcro for those of us who need a wide on one foot and a med on the other - which I understand there are a lot of us! Before they started this I would have to buy 2 pair of shoes to get them both to fit properly.About 90% of my shoes are Clarks - just a couple pair of very dressy shoes in other brands and 1 pair of Ryka walking shoes.

You might want to try Born shoes, not BOC ( their less expensive line ) but Born. I have worn these shoes for years and the quality remains excellent, and they are so comfortable. I realize everyone's feet are different, but it might be worth your while to give them a try.

Re: Clarks...quality and comfort gone!

My two favorite pair of Clarks are Timeless, which I have worn for years and Rosa Pine.  Now both discontinued.  I wrote to Clarks about this.  They gave me the name of a replacement shoe for Timeless. Horrible reviews.  They also gave me the name of another shoe which was so 'old ladyish,' that my great great grandmother would be embarrassed to wear it.  The Rosa Pine is such a comfortable sandal and a good low height.  Very disappointing.

I know!!  I have a Clark's Sandel from 10 years ago that I love. I finally worn it out last year, and I cannot find another pair that is as comfortable as that one.

Maybe they're making a cheaper brand for the Q specifically.  The prices sure don't seem cheap at all though.  I definitely think that's what's happening with some of the brands on the Q - items just aren't the quality they used to be.

I have a few pairs of Clarks that I got from QVC.  Wear them often and have no problem with the quality.  Love Clark shoes!

Re: Clarks...quality and comfort gone!

I find many of their newer styles to be from unattractive to downright ugly.  I hate these big,  fat, clunky wedgies and have no idea why the younger generation wants to wear them.   They make women's calves look fat and/or muscular, make tall women look squatty and shorter women.... Well, you get the idea.

It seemed like all last winter, they presented one combat boot after another.  It looked like we were preparing for war.

Re: Clarks...quality and comfort gone!

I got my first Clarks from the TSV Cloudsteppers about ten days or so ago. I think they're really comfortable and well made. I was going to wait for the Vionic TSV next month, but instead am ordering a second pair of Clarks.
