Charged for QVC return label when I didn't use their label

I returned an item understanding that I am responsible for return shipping. However, I decided  to return on my own and pay for the return ship charge upfront at USPS. I got my own tracking number . Upon receipt of my return by QVC, I saw that my refund was not correct. Turns out QVC deducted  $6.95 for their QVC return label even though I had not used it. Customers beware. There was absolutely nothing on my return package to indicate a QVC return label yet they charged me anyway. After supplying a QVC manager with MY tracking number she agreed to credit back the $6.95 I was due but no other compensation was given despite my effort and trouble and their obvious system problems.   Shame on you QVC.  i no longer shop with QVC as there customer service leaves much to be desired and lack of trust.

"Stuff happens".  It's a busy time of year and mistakes happen.  I don't know what kind of compensation you felt you were due?  I understand it's a minor hassle to have to call a toll-free number, but you did get the charge reversed.

Kind of an overreaction, IMO, to say you're never going to shop with them again over something so minor.  But luckily for you there are a gazillion other places to shop!

I've always found QVC's customer service to be excellent, especially when mistakes happen.

I totally agree!! I have had this happen to me a few times. I just called CS and explained within a minute they adjusted it for me.  They really do have excellent customer service.

Sadly, we all know this happens way too often.

It has happened to me more times than I can count in over 20 years!  LOL

Each time it took me 3 mins. to call C/S and get it refunded back.

I never had to even speak to a manager.

Sorry it happened to you...but it is a quick fix.  HOWEVER, we shouldn't have to 'dog' our returns to make sure these mistakes don't happen!!!

Just call them and they'll make it right! I returned a pair of boots recently because I ordered the black and QVC sent me brown. The black was sold out so I returned them as I just did not need another pair of brown boots. I wrote on the slip what happened. They still deducted it, but when I called CS, they fixed it right away. It is that time of year, but QVC deserves a chance to fix it if they're made aware of it.

Unless my return fee is wavied  [for whatever reason[ - I always send back returns on my own dollar. I've had this happen a couple times since they started with the 'pre paid' return labels. Yes, it's a pain! But  I'm generally tracking my return status anyway- if I see a problem I'm on the horn right away!

Customer service was helpful and you got your credit. When humans are processing returns, mistakes can happen. I routinely check my receipts to be sure items marked on sale are correctly rang up. I found two mistakes last week due to the madhouse of Christmas shopping, and I was not offered nor did I expect extra compensation. It's good that you noticed the mistake, but these things happen in all kinds of stores.

My concern is with all of the people who trust QVC and do not have time "At this busy time of the year" to double check their return.  That is a lot of money that QVC gets from all of those $6.95 returns.  As another person said, the customer should NOT have to "dog" their returns.

Re: Charged for QVC return label when I didn't use their label

I'm always curious when posters say they do not use the QVC labels.  Unless it's a small, light item, I've never been able to send an item cheaper than QVC's rate. The rates at UPS are ridiculous and Priority Mail from USPS has always been more for me.

@pegy

Sorry but I do not see why you should receive compensation for a phone call.

I don't send a lot of returns back to any online retailer, but I always check that everything looks like it should.  It's in my best interest since mistakes can happen.
