@spumoni99 is correct...........if you are a SERIOUS RUNNER....then athletic shoes should be replaced every 3 months.

Depends on what you do in them. SIL runs and his aunt gets an employee discount at Nike so he gets 4 of the same style at a time.
There are some inexpensive summer types that might only last a season.

I've heard Rachel say several things that make no sense at all.

My DD needs to replace her shoes at least----every 6 months--she walks to and from work everyday--she doesn't drive and no busses to where she needs to be--and she buys Hoka brand which is a pricey brand---

Replace sneakers every 3 months???
Ridiculous!
I walk almost every day for a hour or so. I keep an eye on the wear of the soles of my shoes and how they feel, as far as support, before I discard them.
There is no set time frame.

Those $ales people will say anything to make that sale. Most folks know when it's time for a new pair of shoes. If one is giving their shoes a hard workout everyday, they'll know when they need new ones. And most children know when they need new shoes.

Or what - the sneaker police will show up at your door??

When I was running 7-9 miles several times a week I had to replace my running shoes every 3 months or you risk injury.

When I was a serious runner, I bought new running shoes every 500 miles. The newly retired pair would be sent to the casual use pile, and I'd throw away the oldest pair. The retired shoes were fine to walk around in and do regular stuff, but no longer up to running.
I don't run anymore, so I bascially wear sneakers until the wear out, but I can tell the difference when I do get a new pair. I don't buy expensive runners anymore, though.
