Broke down and bought Alegria

Well, how could I pass up $53 and change and free shipping for a so cute shoe with a round toe and Mary Jane strap but a slip on clog?  I selected the black.  I am getting ready to toss out some black shoes I never wear anymore so this will be a replacement.  Anyone else take the plunge for these?   HeartCat Wink

My first pair of Alegria were some clearance priced sandles.  My feet are too big to look cute in Mary Janes.

Re: Broke down and bought Alegria

@Katcat1. @I have 3 Alegria sandals and 2 clogs with back straps.  They are immediately very comfortable.   My only problem is all of mine do not have replaceable insoles.  I am just finishing the second season of wearing my Fionas and the heels are very depressed.  I will have to find a way to fill them in before next spring. I will check into various gel heels. The soles and top leather and cork look like new.  For $100 I hope to get more time out of my shoes.  They are stored on shoe racks and I do not wear the same shoes every day or even week.   Most places everyone walks today are on concrete and other hard surfaces. I am not sure what happened with these.   IMO shoes should be made to withstand hard surfaces.  In the future I will look for Alegria shoes that allow replacement inserts.  They are sold by QVC.  I think you will enjoy your shoes

@Gram W,   What's hard to find these days are shoe repair businesses.  I knew of two and both closed down.  It is a shame that the craft is no longer in demand.  Apparently, people buy new shoes instead of getting new heels or soles, etc.  When I was a kid and my parents bought my shoes, you always would take to the shoe repair.  Back then you did not have 20 pairs of shoes.  You were lucky to have two.  Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.

@AuntG,  I wear a size 10 and this shoe will actually make my foot look smaller because of the rounded toe.  As far as feet go, big or small as long as they get you to where you want to go that is all that matters.

I like most of their shoes, but they seldom make a wide. I know they say their brand tends to be wider, but I need a full wide width.

@Katcat1

I was thinking about that yesterday. I grew up in Brooklyn and remember the shoe repair on the next block over. Years ago, the heels on the shoes would wear down so u needed to replace it. Today, most of the shoes have heels that don't wear down. If u do have to replace it, the cost of repairing is too expensive.
