I too love Brahmin. But some of the more structured satchels are not light, but rather heavy. Beautiful leather and beautiful designs.

That's been my experience too LJ. The line is diverse enough to offer options, but to me, some of the beautiful structured satchels that drew me to the line don't strike me as lightweight. It doesn't matter to me, as the weight of a bag is not a deal breaker unless it's truly like a half ton truck even empty...

I like the Brahmins myself, but I do think they are equivalent in quality to T Burch...I think it comes down to which bag appeals to you more...I only buy handbags I LOVE lol!! The one you like better is probably your best choice Qfanatic! Smiley Happy

I love my Brahmins BUT I am now a Louis Vuitton Girl.

When I decide on a purse I look for something that is not sold at O outlet stores. I used to carry Coach until everyone coming and going had one. Michael Kors is the same way.

Brahmin and Louis are two that I do not think we will ever see at an outlet mall.

Don't worry, be Happy!

I've only very rarely seen Brahmin at a discount store, LV, never, but then of course there's a world of difference in the pricing even between these two brands. Agree though that I don't think either will ever become on outlet or discount store staple!

Brahmin has a few factory outlets of their own. You can check their web site for info.

I own about 10 Brahmins and have given away many as gifts. They will last a lifetime! Everyone who gets them as a gift goes crazy over them. I've gotten rid of all of my DB and Coach bags. IMO, they don't thrill me at all.

Still like most of my Dooney choices, Coach, on the other hand, doesn't do much for me anymore. They seemed to be having a resurgence a few years back, but I guess for me, it never really took off... Likewise, for a time it seemed as though Kors was going to be the next big thing, but again, despite some great bags, the thrill is gone. I could say the same for Kate Spade, again, some lovely bags, but overall, no big deal... and so on, meaning there are a number of others that sort of fit that mold... I guess what I'm finding is that there are certain bags I love and the branding is completely secondary to the specific bag itself.

I agree on branding being secondary in loving a great bag...I presently only own one Coach bag...it was a limited edition several years ago and is absolutely gorgeous...the Kira bag! I've had many in the past, but gave them away or sold them... The Kira, however, is a beauty...even DBF comments on this bag..it's his favorite lol!! With that being said, I've pretty much lost interest in Coach...primarily due to so many great bags with more interesting designs, fabrications and colors within the same pricepoint. I do love my Dooneys...they are quality bags with great design features and fabrications...I've actually turned my Mom on to them!

I bought a Brahmin this week in Lord & Taylor. It was on clearance -- 40 percent off, then another 25 percent off for their Friends & Family sale and I had a $15 coupon. But as Marell9 said I can't adjust the strap. It's very tight and I don't want to break it. Any suggestions?
