I have two pair of Birkenstock sandals from QVC, with the leather tong piece between the toes, I wear sometimes in summer, that I've had for many years, and still look and feel new.

This time of year, I wanted a more closed slip-on shoe, so I bought a pair of Spenco Siesta Solstice clogs (A306913) in navy, wide and they have a really generous toe box, and metatarsal support piece, cork insole that keeps feet from sweating or sliding around. Very easy to just slide on, great colors, all day comfort. I went back for more of this style and QVC currently only has it in M widths, so I read reviews and decided to try a Medium since my feet are average width. It is not as roomy but stays on well, and the toe box is still roomy enough to wiggle my toes and not touch the ends in my normal size. Now my original wides feel baggy but will definitely keep wearing for their uncomparable comfort! Spenco has many other styles in wide or medium to consider, and are less epensive than Birk's, and you don't have to hold the shoe on with your toes as you walk...hate that!

I mention this for you to to know Spenco's are supportive sandals/clogs/shoes something like Birkenstocks support, squarish looking, but most importantly, feel good for your feet.

@feline groovy,

I do not know the name of those Birki sandals; they were purchased probably 15 years ago.   They had 2 wide straps that crossed X style over the entire top of the foot, and my foot was cradled low into the footbed.   By the time I realized how great they were, I could not find them anywhere to buy another pair.

@foggy!,

Spenco’s are a huge NO for me; just dropped 2 pair off at Union Mission last week.   Just like Vionic, they made my feet, hips, (and knees) hurt more.   My knee pain went away once I had knee replacement surgery, until I bought Spenco shoes.   Not going thru 2 big recoveries to have pain again from shoes.

Birkenstock had quite a nice selection on QVC at one time.  I bought several pairs and I still have four or five pairs.  Sally Combs was the rep.  She promoted her hippie image. IMO she still likes to pass herself off as a "flower child."  I think she is a lovely person, but I think she needs to update her image.

It's called the Papillio Daytona and you can still get them here:

*Amazon

*Overstock

*Ebay

*Poshmark

Make sure the inner sole is marked Papillio; good luck.

OH NO RedTop! Sorry to hear that. It took me a little time to adjust to my Vionic sandals but now they are fine. It's amazing how much something like a small bump in a shoe insert designed for support, can either hurt or heal. Hope you find exactly what works for you.

I wish QVC would sell Birkenstocks again and drop one of their other lines!  Birkenstock's are great shoes!

I have over 30 pairs of Birkenstocks, Birkie's Papillio and Betula. All are sooooo comfortable, perfect for my feet, they're all attractive, ie, suede clogs and sandals, smooth leather clogs and sandals, faux leather clogs and sandals --- several have flowery designs and many different colors.

I purchased several pairs from the Q & many pairs from 6PM dot com (paid $50/pair). One pair of navy, suede, 2-strap sandals I purchaed at Costco 20 yrs ago for $40 -- still lookin' good.

I don't have feet problems - I just love COMFORT. I live in California and I wear them all year long.
