Best way to clean white film off of rubber rain boots?

Last year I bought a great pair of rubber rain boots from Coach. When I pulled them out of the bottom of the closet a few weeks ago, I found them covered with a white film. I searched the internet for ways to clean them. Apparently, the white film comes from a wax used to treat the rubber.

I tried dish soap, and it got rid of most of the white film, but not all. Other internet suggestions include olive oil, vinegar, and Armor All Wipes. If you've had this problem, could you share what worked for you? Thanks!

Omg. I have the same problem with the same boots. I tried everything but it just seems to smear it around and the white comes back. Did you ever find something to get it off?

ITs called Blooming.  I have 5 pairs of Hunter boots and I use the Hunter Boot spray and the polishing block they sell and it cleans it right up.  You can get both from Nordstrom.  If you don't want to buy that I have tried the armour all that you use to clean your tires on your car.  That works too but not as perfectly as the Hunter boot spray.

Google Blooming on rubber rain boots and you will find more info.
