My Dansko professionals.  They are the best for my feet.  I buy a size larger than normal since the heel is supposed to rise when you walk.

It sounds like you need a shoe with good support. I suggest Asics or Brooks. I have the Asics Gel Kayano, and although it's a running shoe, I've heard rave reviews from people who have foot pain and issues. I use it to run, and it provides a lot of support and cushion.

For me, it's Spenco, in the men's version.  Siesta vented, Siesta slide, chukka.  I have never had a more comfortable "ride".

When the weather is nice, I wear a pair of Abeo sandals.  Went in last summer to the Walking Store (Company??). Had been having foot problems.  Walked out with 2 pairs of sandals....one with straps  for walking, and the other a thong type.  Great comfort!

When the weather gets colder, I wear Merrell shoes.  Except for the Abeo sandals, I always wear inserts that I got from "Heel that Pain" website.   I have recommended that website a few times!

New Balance

The higher the number on the shoe, the better support.

Speaking of foot problems, you may also find different products that may help at Foot Smart.com.  They have everything for feet including all types of shoes, pads, creams and other items.
