Are loafers really trending?

Or is that just QVC hype? I think ladies prefer ankle boots over shoes in the winter, except if wearing a dress. But when we lived where it gets cold I seldom ever wore a dress in the winter.

Re: Are loafers really trending?

Loafers always trend with me.  I wear them daily with pants, dresses, capris, whatever.  They are my normal  footwear.  I have many in all colos from Talbots.  I can just slip them on, they are nice leather and comfortable.

I hardly ever put on an athletic type shoe.   I also have ballet type shoes but generally prefer loafers/driving shoes.  I've never been a big fan of boots--especially those ankle high ones.

Re: Are loafers really trending?

Physically I have little choice with what I put on my feet, but if I did I'd satisfy my personal eye before fashion.  That would mean I'd never wear an ankle boot-  I watched them each recent fall and I have yet to see them on anyone and like them   only use for me would be under long trousers!  I love boots though - wish they fit into my life.

I haven't watched enough QVC to realize they're pushing loafers although I do know Isaac offers many of them or are all his mocasins?  I love his colors - wish my feet would accept them!

Re: Are loafers really trending?

I see a lot of loafers in B & Ms.  I just bought a pair of Franco Sarto loafers last week.

Mostly I wear ankle boots, but I thought I'd add a couple of pairs of loafers to the bunch this fall.  Seriously considering the TSV in grey, I think.

To me the TSV isn't really a loafer. It's just a shoe.  Loafers have thinner soles and are not so clunky.   I wouldn't buy the TSV.

I've worn loafers since I was a teenager.  Old Maine Trotters, Bass, lots of other brands!

I can't wear thin soled loafers since I have very sensitive feet, so that clunky TSV is perfect for me.  LOL.

Loafers are not a trend.  They have been in style for years and years.

Re: Are loafers really trending?

I love loafers and driving mocs.  My faves are by Coach, Michael Kors, and Bass Weejuns.  I'm not getting the TSV though because the thick sole is not for me.

I live in a warm climate, so I tend to wear loafers a lot more than ankle boots throughout the year.

Re: Are loafers really trending?

Loafers never left IMO, they are always a fall and winter staple. Maybe QVC says they're trending because they've been selling mostly memory foam sneakers, boots, and wedges and have been locked in to certain types of shoes for so long, that when they bring these out, they feel it's a trend. Smiley Wink
