Perhaps, I bring my ICU RN thing a bit too far with germs, but I cannot buy a Dooney and Bourke handbag without feet. The thought of putting a handbag down on a public floor (sometimes there are no options) creeps me out.
Sue Clifton has suggested simply wiping the surface off, if the area becomes soiled. Who wants to clean off cooties from a public floor? We have always learned, the dirtiest area is the floor, due to gravity. Is there anyone who dislikes the handbags without feet? How much would four feet add to the price of a bag?

I too am a nurse and I really hate it when I have no option but to place my purse on the floor. I have walked out of restrooms with no hooks to hang my bag. Perhaps it is the nurse in me too. I have seen some horrendous infections and know what germs hang out on the floor!

It's just me.
Just me too. lol I also refuse to sit my bag on a seat , anywhere. (Except in my car and no one sits there but me or the dh- and that is covered with a clean towel.) Yep, I am a germ -o -phobe , to the max!
If there is no hook in the restroom, it's on my shoulder or around my neck . I would never , ever set it on the floor. ewwwwwwww!
Now there, bring it on !
I have on my big girl panties - it's Saturday !

I saw some morning show and the person was talking about how those wipes are a joke!
I disagree! I use them all of the time and will continue to use them. I have seen many shows where they used Q-tips and swiped and grew junk in Petri dishes and feces (sp) was in almost all of it. They said the cleanest places were toilet seats because they get wiped down regularly.
The dirtiest things were cell phones because they get put down everywhere and never get wiped off.
The best thing you can take to keep from getting sick is also Lysiene. I take it every day. It also prevents cold sores, mouth sores!
I use liquid wipes the minute I get back in my car. Just take a minute. Look around at some of the people in these places! Are you kidding me? I had a neighbor come by 'unannounced' at around 8:00PM New Years Eve! I live alone and asked who it was? She identified herself. I cracked the door and said I'd just gotten home (which was the truth from the grocery store) and that I wasn't feeling good (I have IBS). She said, "I know what you mean. I'm sick myself!" WHAT????? Why was she out like that? Some people are crazy.
I will continue to use wipes and all things to wipe out germs.
My Grandchildren are what we in our family call "WALKING PETRI (sp) DISHES"! After I leave my daughter's house I wipe off my hands. They've been sick forever. She has 4 children ages 16 months to 11 years. I love them, hug them. But I make sure to get out those wipes. I even went over to help recently and they were all sick as dogs! Coming out of both ends. I cleaned up the mess (you wouldn't believe). Then got back in my car and wiped it down.
I thought I was going to get shocked because I wiped down my keys and they were still wet when I turned on the car! Ha! ![]()

I think people get a bug
about where they pick up germs. We are surrounded by germs and my guess is everyone, even our OP, touches things that are full of germs. We have become germ-a-phobic. Another way for retailers to make even more money.

And consider this: When you go into the ladies room, you hang your bag on the hook, do your business and then carry your bag to the sink ALL before you've washed your hands. Yes, it sounds gross, but it proves we do survive our germy planet.

When I go into a restroom that doesn't have a hook, I -- gasp! -- put my bag on the floor.
And yet I'm still alive and kicking. Go figure.
I'm still not sure exactly what the fear is all about. Why the focus on the bottom of a handbag getting "germy" when every minute we do things that make us come in contact with germs?

With all due respect, ever have a conversation with the person who cleans the restrooms?
No, I don't go looking them up
, but have casually chatted , while waiting on someone .
I applaud them- for the work they do. I surely wouldn't want the job. ![]()
They have some pretty horrific tales to tell about what they find in the restrooms. I'll be darned if I put my bag on the floor -ever ! Your bag, so you are entitled to not worry where it goes.
