Usually that website has a ton of bargain shoes but this is not a good time.  Winter shoes are gone, summer shoes not yet on sale.

Actually, there are still some great deals on the site.  Even I was tempted to buy another pair so I justified the purchase by telling myself it's National Nurses Week.

Here they are:

Are the Alegria shoes worth it??  Comfortable??  I was thinking about ordering the shoe.  I have developed feet issues.  I fractured my left foot this year (just got out of my boot finally) and I have achilles tendinosis on my right.  Which I might have to have surgery.

thanks a lot..

@ruthbe

I started wearing Alegrias shortly after I changed careers.  Started working in healthcare and went to nursing school  Between work, school and clinicals, I was on my feet most of the time.  Cheap athletic shoes weren't working for me so I bought my first pair of Alegria clogs when I was still working as a tech.  Twelve years ago -- or more.

It didn't take much time for my coworkers to catch on and start ordering them.  I have a tricky knee and Alegrias have always been dependable.  I have several pairs and several styles, but no sandals.

Check out the website.  I've found that some of the styles fit a little differently than others, but I've had luck wearing the same size with no issues.

Is there a local retailer where you can try on a pair?

@ruthbe Try zappos if you want to try a few different styles. You will get the shoes within 2 days with free S&H both ways.

A lot of people swear by this brand.  I also worked with a woman in retail that loved the comfort.

I've been wearing Alegria shoes for nearly 10 years.

My favorites are clogs, loafers, and thong sandals.

I will not buy another pair of 3 strap slide sandals with velcro on the straps.  My purchase of 2 pair of this style have shown that the straps stretch out with normal wear, and do not give my feet the support I need in my shoes.  This style is also the only one of my Alegria shoes that make squishing like sounds when I walk.

I stopped buying Clark sandals because of the squishing sound, and am not happy to find a style of Alegria shoes that does the same thing.

My sister is a nurse and she and some of her colleagues swear by the closed clog Alegria. She finds them on sale all over the internet.

@ruthbe --I know this is weird but is your achilles problems due to you over using it or an injury? The reason I ask is I had what I was told was tendonitis, not what you have,  on both my achilles that developed painful lumps about the size of walnuts both at the same time and it turned out to be a side effect from a statin I was taking, Crestor. Went ahead with surgery , when I should have just stopped taking the meds--this was 2006-7. Just wondering......
