An unusual combo!  Adidas partnered with an European porcelain maker, Meissen, to create these gorgeous hand painted leather sneakers.

The sneakers are to be auctioned with the proceeds to be used to fund art programing for local youth by the Brooklyn Museum.  The sneakers are expected to sell for a cool $1 million.  But it appears there will be a commercially-available style inspired by the original for sale in December.

I'd like a pair but not for a million!  Very pretty and different.

@Kachina624 I don't mind at all if the rich spend their spare change in ways that benefit others.  I just don't have a spare million for sneakers right now, but those sneakers are neat and I like the cause.   Hope they go for many dollars.

I love them!  Sadly, I don't have a spare million either, but I'll watch for the commerically-available pair.  I particularly love the dragons included in the pattern.

Hope they make a ton of money.  I would never buy anything like that.  Rarely am I in all solids unless it's built around a scarf or a piece of jewelry.Smiley Happy

Interesting, but I don’t like the design on these. I’ve seen some printed colorful sneakers & beautiful high heel printed pumps over the years, but I’ve never purchased any.

Years ago I used to have 2 pairs of printed ballet flats that I really loved. One was leopard print and the other was navy with a colorful floral. I never did replace either when they wore out. I only own solid color shoes right now.

@NYCLatinaMe   Those are gorgeous.  I would definitely wear them.  Will be on the lookout for the ones to be sold retail since, alas, I am not a millionaire.

The Brooklyn Museum is a worthy charity.  AAlwaays happy to see children encouraged to appreciate, and engage in the arts.
