I've been known to spend $$$ on handbags, but I wouldn't pay $25 for that bag. Definitely not for me.

Joking aside, I'm curious as to who QVC is targeting with these new prices, especially on old bags where you are almost guaranteed to be receiving a customer return.

Who are they thinking will buy no name bags for these prices? Clearly they are turning off existing GILI customers, and they had to know that would happen. So who is this new customer? They must have a plan of some sort. I don't think such a huge company would make these changes on a whim.

It's a no-name house brand, and has no resale value.

Go onto eBay and see the prices they are commanding for 'used' Prada, Gucci, Chanel. Even Donna Karen, Marc Jacobs and Dooney have pedigree. These are timeless and well constructed.

If the Gili customer wants a trending bag, do they really want to spend over $700 for an over-sized tassel? They could do so much better.

I don't mean to disparage Gili lovers. But please know that the value of the bag does not warrant a nearly 50% markup in a few months. Spend wisely.

I find very nice bags at Kohls for well under $100 ... Is QVC trying to fool us that spending hundreds of dollars more for a bag means it's better? I'm sure it's still coming off the same boats from China.

I love Kohls, and we have a Nordstom's outlet here called 'The Rack' which offers high end bags as a very reduced price.
