I'm new to looking at and/or buying high-end handbags. I certainly hope this isn't a "dumb" question or an "offensive" one. I don't mean to express any kind of opinion about what Dooney styles people prefer.
But I do have a question: The purses in the Signature Line, specifically the multi-colored ones.......Are the people who buy these, usually a younger crowd? I'm 63 and somehow I think I'd feel awkward carrying one of these bags. I see them (in my very limited realm of experience) as appealing to young ladies in their twenties, or a perfect gift a mother or grandmother might buy for a graduate or college student, a perfect First Dooney.
I'm asking because at one time -- many moons ago -- I saw myself treating myself one day. Since the colored bags were the Dooneys I saw and recognized at the time, I had no idea that others existed. Then again we're hardly a major metro area -- Macy's is the only high-end store we have. So the colored bags were all I knew about the line, either by my lack of knowledge or by a limited supply in our local stores. (I've only ventured online since 2000, my move into the 21st century ;-) )
Oh my! So many words to ask such a small question.
TIA ![]()

I really like the signature lines print design, only reason I don't own one is because I'm obsessed with the Flo line and because I haven't found a signature line in bag silhouette I have to have, yet. But I would absolutely carry one. I'm in my late 40s.

Perfectly said. I am 49 and would carry one in a second if the style and SIZE was my "can't resist. "

If you like the multi-colored graphic purses I don't think they're necessarily age-specific. I'd guess they're more popular among younger shoppers than more experienced shoppers, but I don't think age necessarily matters if you like a certain bag. It's all about what we like as individuals. Take yesterday's shows for example, pretty as they might be, I'm not remotely interested in a 'baby pink' or 'violet' bag costing hundreds of dollars, but those colors often sell out... I prefer neutrals and the occasional less frilly color but that's me. Likewise, I think the Dooney florals are so pretty but wouldn't choose to own one, and yet they're very popular. Buy what you love!
