I've been asking for a red one forever.....definitely prefer pebble leather because I think smooth leather scratches more easily and they show up more.

I LOVE that hobo too! My most expensive bag!!! But D&B Florentine Leather isn't very practical although it's very pretty..... and I haven't seen any other handbags with smooth leather to compare.... I also like pebble leather. I don't like saffiano.

My solids are essentially smooth. They might be very slightly textured, but not a deal breaker for me at all... I really wish she'd bring back some of the older colors and bring in some new ones. It's probably the best seller of all the Gili bags and the ones she keeps rolling out lately are too expensive for what they are... And that one she showed tonight just isn't for me. Initially, I thought I liked it in blue but not enough to buy. And the upcoming satchel is a triple entry, which makes me think it'll probably be a no go, but I'll wait and see it presented, assuming it doesn't sell out in the first five minutes of the show..., which is really getting old.

Incidentally, did the vintage hobo initially come in more than one color choice? I see now 'brandy' is the only color shown. It's a pretty bag, but I'm just curious.

Yes, Roma 2 is a hit. I gotta say it's my favorite bag - stylish AND functional as a tote.... I'm considering returning the saddle bag because it just seems so narrow for over $300..... :/ The vintage hobo is amazing. The brandy was the only color and supposedly it was hand dyed with vegetable dye. Something they don't do anymore. They made about 700 of these bags. The leather on it smells SO good!!!! Love it! The second version presented again tonight is overpriced for the seasonal pattern and I agree, 3 separate compartment bags aren't too functional....not to mention I don't do satchels...and this one doesn't even have a strap.

Well, as you know, I love satchels and the lack of a strap doesn't bother me, but I have to wait and see. It looks like a pretty bag, but depending on the price, nothing different enough to make it a must have, depending, of course, on the colors.
