There is a new "H" mart that opened nearby, so DD and I took the bus there and OMgosh--what fun we had!!. We walked all around and oohh-ed and aah-ed over the many, MANY, wonderful things there. All the meats were gorgeous and so many different cuts --veggies were the same and I could have filled up my cart with fresh herbs---prices were very reasonable--even found tiny quail eggs--a dozen for under $4---- Was about an hour and we decided to get lunch --had a version of salisbury steak with gravy, rice with a runny egg over top --yummy--- and then we did some shopping. I bought 3 kinds of mushrooms that normally would cost a fortune elsewhere --got ******ake and cremini and one called King oyster mushrooms---AND THEN------on the way out-- we walked into heaven----beautiful pastries of every description---almost too pretty to eat--got a couple filled muffins and choc dipped waffle and grilled garlic sticks----that was amazing!!! Was such a fun trip!! Am looking for recipes for the mushies--thinking about grilling them with salmon for tonights dinner--maybe a little rice and fresh berries too!!

I went to an Asian Market several years ago in Toronto ...
Lots of things I have never seen in a market before ..
Don't think I'm cooking ducks feet any time soon ....

@wagirl I'm so glad that you and your daughter had fun at your first visit to H-Mart 🤗🙌🛒🏪✨! I loved reading your description of your first H-mart experience- I felt all of that same wonder and excitement when I went to H-mart for the first time back when I was in college on the East Coast. My gal pal drove me to H-Mart that day and I still remember it like it was yesterday: I got a pound of lychee fruit, delicious red date tea, Asian candy and I even got to eat at the H-Mart food court. I ordered a delicious Korean dish called "Jjajangmyeon" which is noodles with a Korean black bean sauce and it was topped with a sunny side egg.
There's a new H-Mart on the outer edge of my city- I think I'll take the train there and go to H-Mart again sometime! Thank you for your post- I'm really glad that you and your daughter had such a fun time at H-Mart 🤗💗

Sounds like a fun trip...........ignore the snarks. I never understand why if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

How fun! We don't have this exact mart close by, but we have a local, large one that I just love. The produce selection is outstanding and the grandkids love the hot, stuffed buns. Buns never make it as far as the car 🤣
ETA as a memory test I tried once again to spell it UWAJIMAYA. My little brain is now done for the day.
