Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I have no experience with that particular cake.  I will say, though, that I have lots of experience with recipes that were written incorrectly - don't discount that possibility.

This recipe is from Laura Vitale.  Her videos are excellent and I've never been steered wrong with one of her recipes.

@kittyloo Just had a thought.  How old is your baking powder?

If it's recent, and you beat your egg whites to the stiff stage, I'd try it again.
