Hi lavender......I thought it would be better to continue what we were talking about on the cookie tray and white chocolate popcorn thread in another post rather than to keep bumping my stuff up over and over again. Wink

Who taught me how to knit? My Nana tried to........she held the long straight knitting needles under her arms when she knit and tried to make me knit like she did. Uh uh........no matter how I tried I couldn't get the hang of that! So she taught me the basics then the lady next door who knit BEAUTIFUL ski sweaters-you know the ones with the snowflakes, reindeer and what not on them?-got me started. From there I basically taught myself. To this day, I would rather work on a charted pattern with a design or a complicated cable pattern than just knit. That's why mittens make me want to stick one of the double point needles in my EYE! BORING! BUT they are good as a travel project because they're small. Anything complicated I have to be by myself and concentrate.....hahahahahaha-good luck with that!

That poncho I'm making............I don't know.......Robin fell in love with it so.....I have NO idea how this is gonna work. It has cuffs which I guess sort of turn the sides into sleeves but when you raise your arms, the whole thing would rise with them, right? Not my cup of tea but then....... I only have 1 sweater that I've made-a bulky weight one that I wear when it's SUPER cold cause I DIE in it otherwise. I can wear it without a jacket on cooler days-it's perfect. I swear I'm gonna make myself one of these this year-I've made this sweater at least 6 times-FOR OTHER PEOPLE!

...

THIS is the kind of knitting I LOVE to do.

Yes indeed-you tell your family you have to move to New England to bake bread and knit-they'll LOVE that! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm totally ready for spring too-although our winter has been MILD this year-not much snow and warm. It was over 50 the other day.....I like! Tonight-snow and ice with possible limbs and wires down leading to power outages. I don't like. After the mess we went through in October losing our electric meter off the house I REALLY don't want a repeat of that nonsense. Here's hoping the weathermen are full of baloney!

Have a good day!

Carol
